PMR-30 Ammo Recommendations Update 07-11-2011 - We've had a lot of questions come in regarding possible new ammunition recommendations in response to the updated barrel design. The overall list of recommended ammunition hasn't really changed, however there is something we feel is worth noting. After extensive testing with various ammunition we have concluded that all remaining key-holing issues have been isolated to one particular brand and weight of ammunition. Unfortunately this seems to be the most common and available ammunition: CCI Maxi-Mag 40gr.

Via Army.mil - NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Apache attack helicopters will soon field a new, high-tech Ground Fire Acquisition System, which uses cameras and infrared sensors to instantly identify the source location of ground fire, service officials said. "GFAS (Ground Fire Acquisition System) detects ground fire. It allows us to take information about incoming fire, get our sensors on it and identify and prosecute ground targets," said Maj. This is a Bolt-Action, magazine fed 20mm Ultra Long Range Sniper with a effective range of 2,000 yards to a full 3,000 yards (and maybe 3,500 yards). It fires 20×102mm projectiles (79 caliber) using modern computerized optics. the Mag-Fed 20mm can be effectively used for anti-materiel and counter-sniping out to well beyond .50 BMG range. New for For 2011, Sig Sauer is offering several variants to its tactical platforms. Leading the way is the new SIG556 Russian, chambered for the widely used 7.62 x 39mm caliber. Reasons quoted were relatively short range, lethality of the round and raising number of complaints about jamming and overheating M4s.
