I personally know the gentlemen at Coonan that make this beast and I am a friend of, and trained with the gunsmith that does the digital camo Dura-Coat on these monsters ... being biased in those aspects one would expect me to give this pistol very high marks on that alone...But as a gunsmith my personal reputation is on the line and therefor I can separate myself to evaluate each gun on it's own merits and let me tell you.. this is NOT the Coonan of yesteryear. Dan Coonan and his crack team of engineers have spent tireless hours refining this oversized 1911 design to work flawlessly. The fit and finish on these masterpieces is superb.. They are reminiscent of a sweet 60's musclecar...Very fine lines on the outside to draw your eye in... yet once you put the throttle down you release the harnessed beast of the mighty .357 Magnum under the hood of this beauty! All in all.. I just have to tell you.. SHOOT ONE of his gems and compare the overall size and recoil of this sweetheart of a 1911 to his competition's gas-operated tanks! P.S. The digital camo on Coonan's pistols is well worth the upgrade price...In these days where everyone and their brothers are offering exotic finishes, you'd be hard-pressed to find a superior camo finish!
Interesting idea, but what advantage does this have over a 10 mm 1911?
