Description

Diamondback Firearms is proud to present the DB9, a micro-compact 9mmpistol made entirely in the USA. Designed with safety in mind, the DB9features a "ZERO-Energy" striker firing system with a mechanical firingpin block, a steel magazine catch to secure a sheet metal magazine andreal windage-adjustable sights, all in a lightweight pistol. A steeltrigger with dual connecting bars allows for a crisp, smooth, triggerpull. The DB9 features a FEA (Finite Element Analysis) designed slideand barrel that is stronger than any comparable firearm, resulting indurability with less felt recoil, and the absence of removable pins ortools makes field stripping easier than ever. The slide, barrel, andinternal parts are coated to resist corrosion, making this pistol alifetime investment.

The DB9 is my EDC, because 11oz vs other CCW pistols at 17-21oz makes a huge difference on how often you carry, especially when swinging back and forth against your leg in a cargo shorts pocket, the small form factor also means it fits in the back pocket of my Levis with nothing but a trigger guard, meaning you carry more often if it doesn't require a holster and clothing that is carry friendly. When IWB with a holster is appropriate, I normally step up to my Ruger LC9s for a few more rounds, night sights and laser, but I will readily admit, the DB9 is usually with me and the LC9s is usually gathering dust, and it all comes back to size and weight.

Reliability has not been an issue for me, broke it in with 200 rounds of 115gr FMJ WWB/Champion, found that I could shoot one handed without jams or misfeeds unlike my former CCW a Keltec PF9, and now that its broken in I am using good old Federal Classic 115gr JHP for a carry load. I dump 3 mags on each range trip, two FMJ and one JHP. The only feed issue I have experienced is occasionally with one of my three mags, the rough edge of the JHPs can hang up on the feed ramp when trying to charge the first round out of full mag by hand, but not once actually live firing.

I followed this pistol since it was introduced and waited several years for them to work out the kinks, so if you go searching you will find negative reviews along with just as many positive reviews. With a current model, it should be reliable if you dont try to feed it exotic or anything more than 124gr ammo, if not, send it back on the lifetime warranty for DB to look it over and ensure everything is to spec, DB has very responsive Customer Service and a pretty quick turnaround time.

The only cons are design trade offs to achieve the weight goal, namely the lack of either a slide stop/lock and/or thumb safety, both of which would have added more metal parts and thus more weight than they were worth. By the way, I bought mine from Lanbos who currently has the Black version for $197, with free shipping and no cc fees
