I bought one. About 50 bucks more than this and ordered the wmr cylinder. The little sling is decent, the stock was a little loose. Fit and finish is alright, trigger is good. My front sight is not dovetailed like some of those shown in pictures. Sight picture isn't great, rear sight is adjustable. Shooting it is fun and not fun at the same time. It throws quite a bit of powder back at you and is obviously a slower reload. I don't regret the purchase but it was kind of impulsive. I had watched hateful 8 and recently played some red dead when I saw it and thought ahh .22 this will be fun to play around with. It is not something I couldn't part with but also not actively trying to sell if that says enough. If it was sub $200 with both cylinders I would say no brainer. For around $300 all in it was definitely not my best purchase. To me, pump and lever .22lr are much more fun. If there was an affordable-ish little trapdoor or rolling block in .22lr I think I would rather have that for plinking and playing around with.
Thank you for this detailed review, which I just found...think I'll stay away. Might I suggest to other novelty plinkers to check out the Henry Mare's Leg .22LR. I didn't think I needed it until it came thru the shop and I couldn't put it down. It actually performs, and a big hit with the kids.
Is the cylinder interchangeable with a .22 Mag cylinder like its handgun counterpart?
Same experience as others. I paid around $320 out the door about a year ago at my LGS. I had been watching too many westerns and thought this would be a cool addition to my Rossi Circuit Judge. Not even close. This rifle is a novelty gun. Kind of fun, but kind of frustrating with how inaccurate and blowby there is. Prices are coming down and it's not really worth selling.
All in all kind of a neat rifle, but I wished I never paid what I did.
