Oh, the glory of steel targets. Is there anything more American than hearing the ring and ding of lead smashing into steel? Maybe a few things, but not much. Steel targets have gone completely mainstream, and never before have we seen such a wide variety of options. The steel target world is now providing us the most reactive steel targets on the market that can be reused for years and tens of thousands of rounds. ShootingTargets7, in particular, has been not only making great steel targets but innovating in setup, takedown, and design.

When it comes to self-defense and using a gun, there’s a lot to think about. It’s in your best interest to always be able to properly identify your target and, if needed and hit it as well but also have something to support your need for using a gun to defend yourself.

Now a lot of you are, like I was for years, thinking why would I want a Ruger 10/22 Charger? Maybe you're not even familiar with it. Hold that thought for just a minute. And check this out!

Taurus really vibes with their G3 line. The G3 represents their modern incarnation of the polymer frame, striker-fired pistol. The G3 series encompasses a standard model and a compact now. Taurus introduced a mishmash of the G3 series in the form of the G3X and G3XL. The two platforms combine slides and frames to produce entirely different guns.

As a fan of history and shotguns, I love seeing all the new retro shotguns hitting the market. Holy crap is a sight to see blued steel or parkerized steel combined with wood and heat shields become the norm. These modern trench guns became popular after Mossberg unveiled the Retrograde lineup and have continued to evolve and improve as time has passed. Imagine my shock when the first thing I took notice of at the Gathering 2022 was a blued steel, hardwood equipped, heatshield wearing shotgun from Rock Island Armory.

Micro Compacts have become the dominant force in the concealed carry market. These tiny little firearms fit a lot of ammo into a relatively small package. Ten rounds seem to be the standard, but these guns don't exceed the size constraints of a single stack 9mm. SIG might've started the trend, but Springfield, Taurus, Kimber, and S&W have followed the trend. S&W produced both the Shield Plus and the CSX in the micro-compact category.

Century Arms has long been a name in the AK market. They were one of the original importers of various AK platforms throughout the years, and recently they went from importing to producing. The Century Arms AK series has been rather expansive, and the latest out of Century is the BTF47. BTF47 is a bit of an odd name, and the last two numbers should clue you into the caliber. It's a standard 7.62x39mm AK platform.
