Good observation, this is probably a common misreading/misconception of the name. This isn't "carry" as in concealed carry, it's a comp category.

The steel Performance line has always been competition, and the "Carry Optic" model is meant for the Carry Optics division. Like a lot of divisions it was aimed at being more towards the titular use case - enabling carry, optics equipped pistols to be more competitive - but as with most competitions it does kind of devolve into heavy, limit-pushing pistols like this heavy steel frame. It's at least not a 2011 (the crab of competition guns) because the rules specify DA/SA or striker.

Seems like a straight shooter but to name a 48 ounce steel framed, double stack pistol as “Performance Carry” is odd—-maybe carry it at a match?

I've got a few heavy cans but even close to that. My Chimera300 is a porker and still weighs under 16oz. Long boy Lahar30L weighs under 20oz. This must either be a mistype or that thing is an absolute tank.

Lock up hand guard is THE WORST. Do not get this simply because of that shitty designed handguard alone. You need a proprietary wrench to take it off and about two people’s worth of muscle to unscrew it off. HORRIBLE design.
