I disagree with the ban on the importation but was still able to pick up a Vepr 12 at $799. I think it's more of a backhanded way of Obama to stick it to pro 2nd amendment patriots. Still, plenty of Bulgarian, Yugo, Polish and Romanian AK's available. Btw, I love American made guns as well.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. I understand that freedom is not free. No disrespect intended. I dont even care for the AK myself very much. I just see it as the inert object that it is and do not feel that it was banned with our best interest in mind.

I poised a question. I also served so we might have different opinions . I don't personally care about the Ukraine , nor do I care about anyone else's politics ,religion or sexually orientation. That's freedom. I assure you I'm not chanting USA to you or anyone else. It was an observation. I own two ak's and briefly knew the men that owned them. Both were on the communist team. I'm expressing my personal opinion based on my personal experiences. With all do respect.

Communism, Patriotism, Consumerism??? Seriously? Its a fine weapon produced by the country who invented it. How does banning its import help the Ukraine? How exactly does this help anyone in Ukraine? It doesn't. It is a byproduct of passive aggressive management by our current leadership. Middle of the road management does not substitute for leadership. So please save the USA chants for the next generation. I have heard that song before and it doesn't pass muster.

Is it consumerism over patriotism? Last time I said something about the communist on here I was told to chill out, lighten up. Hmmm ... They don't like Americans, they will kill you if they have a chance. How many wars do we fight against ak's and sks's till we recognize a trend? They always arm our enemies.

Oh the horror, we can't buy more small arms from the world's largest kleptocratic government, which just so happens to be arming "rebels" (spetsnaz) in the Ukraine and oversaw the deployment of high-altitude antiaircraft missiles that shot down a passenger jet? Fuck Putin. And fuck Kalashnikov Concern. You want one of these guns? Buy a non-Russian clone and be a goddamned American.

I'm not sure how this will make Russia resolve the conflict in the Ukraine? As a Saiga owner, I'm sad I can't add more down the road. I'm not in a position to buy additional firearms now or I would! I'll never add the Saiga5.45x39, Saiga.308 or the Saiga410. I have 3 more Saiga7.62x39s on my dream sheet that I'll have to scratch off. Am I crying? Damn near! This sucks for those of us who really enjoy Saiga firearms. Vote Smart!

Also, I'd like to say Congratulations to anyone that becomes a Saiga owner or gets another one, with what remains in stock. I'm jealous!

Ukraine-related Sanctions; Publication of Executive Order 13662 Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List

374. If I own a Kalashnikov product, is that product blocked by sanctions? Am I able to resell a Kalashnikov product at a gun show or other secondary market?

If a U.S. person is in possession of a Kalashnikov Concern product that was bought and fully paid for prior to the date of designation (i.e., no payment remains due to Kalashnikov Concern), then that product is not blocked and OFAC sanctions would not prohibit the U.S. person from keeping or selling the product in the secondary market, so long as Kalashnikov Concern has no interest in the transaction. New transactions by U.S. persons with Kalashnikov Concern are prohibited, however, and any property in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest is blocked pursuant to OFAC’s designation of Kalashnikov Concern on July 16, 2014. If a U.S. person has an inventory of Kalashnikov Concern products in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest (for example, the products are not fully paid for or are being sold on consignment), we advise that U.S. person to contact OFAC for further guidance on handling of the inventory.
