This handguard has tabs that lock onto a standard barrel nut , the barrel nut has to be indexed for the gas tube to slide into the upper. So with that said the guard is actually locked into place using the barrel nut that is locked into place using the gas tube as the lock to keep it from twisting.

If you are using the gas tube to lock the barrel nut in place, you are doing it wrong.

BarackHussein is a troll. Asks stupid questions like "How does a HiPoint .380 compare to a 1911?' then never revisits his posts for the answer. Ignore her.

It's got that standard barrel nut with the grooves for gas tube which preclude it's ability to have those anti rotation tabs. answer is no it does not, and in the future if you exime the barrel nut sometimes it will answer your question.

Many rails with the standard barrel nut have anti rotation tabs, the $200 Samson Evolution for example. This appears to have them that set IN the barrel nut making them worthless as it doesn't prevent the barrel nut from turning which defeats the purpose. See 2nd pic on the link on the ad and hover to zoom.

Anti-rotation tabs are intended to align the handguard and prevent it from rotating. They are not intended to prevent a barrel nut from rotating. So the purpose is not defeated when the anti-rotation tabs index on the barrel nut. It should be obvious, Champ, that a loose barrel nut is a show stopper regardless of anti-rotation tabs.

Obvious? ALL handguards except the cheapest of Chinese shit are ATTACHED to the DAMN BARREL NUT without having special tabs to do so with either a clamping or screw mounting system. When you further ATTACH to the barrel nut with special TABS but DO NOT align it with tabs on either side of the upper receiver LIKE EVERY DAMN ANTI-Rotation system known to mankind, you don't do jack shit to keep it from rotating because all that is holding it on then is the barrel nut torque which WILL ROTATE with enough pressure applied or come lose from heat over time etc. You don't know an anti -rotation tab from your ass!

Reference, Aero, Seekins, Samson, etc and any USA made handguard worth owning.

Lot's of top American designed and manufactured handguards index off the the barrel nut because they understand firearm engineering. The "Chinese shit" handguards are copies of American designs.

Having a huge cherry-picking shouting tantrum doesn't make you right. Your self-soothing tirade isn't convincing anyone. It shows that you lack the temperament to learn about firearm design and fosters doubt about the validity of your user name. I have no interest in shattering your personal fairytale. I don't care if you can accept facts. I posted them, take it or leave it.

BULLSHIT, you got caught talking out your ass. those companies sell garbage, usually in the $30 -$ 50- rage. You failed to mention the pic links below of REAL anti-rotation tabs on REAL correctly engineered rails. Using your batshit logic the best American companies(DD, BCM, LMT, Aero and the rest are WRONG because they have tabs that lock the rail to the actual sides of the receiver and not the just the F@CKING barrel nut. The problem with everyone having the ability to post their opinions is people like YOU who are F@cking MORONS.

>rage

Now there's a Freudian slip.

>failed to mention the pic links

That's the cherry-picking I mentioned and they're actually proving one of my points by content and another by volume.

You concede:
>tabs that lock the rail

Now you're catching on. As I said the tabs lock the rail, not the barrel nut.

You just cannot stand the sound of being corrected. It enrages you to the point of semi-literacy. It triggers you beyond reason. You spew profanity, middle-school insults, and picture links while thinking that is somehow bolstering your argument. You aren't reading with comprehension and you obviously cannot recognize that you are having a mental breakdown in full view of the public.

Cherry picking? By posting Correctly locked rails.........bwahahah!

I concede that Tabs that lock the rail TO THE F@CKING RECEIVER are the only ones that work........not to a nut that spins at 30ft lbs.

..I'm done here........can't reason with someone too dumb to realize that they are DUMB!

Buh Bye nutter.....

This is what is next to you at the range ladies and gentlemen. His barrel nut has come loose and he thinks those little aluminum tabs are still doing something. All the handguard manufacturers say that you may have to remove the tabs with some upper receivers. Those tabs are designed to prevent very minimal rotational force of the handguard. Linking any concepts of barrel nut torque with these anti-rotation tabs is a complete failure to understand their design limits and purpose.

I'm just wondering what 'not to a nut that spins at 30ft lbs' means. If it is spinning, I doubt it is torqued @30ft lbs. His torque wrench needs recalibrating.

It does have anti-rotation tabs. They index into the barrel nut. Source: the pictures
