I have 9 different rifles a AR 15 5.56x45 and a AR 10 7.62x51 and I have a AK in 7.62x39 and love them all! The 7.62 is great! I love it in the .30-06 7.62x63 but the AK in 7.62x39 is an amazing round! And bear creak is a good mid level entry gun and for this price or -$50 and build yourself it's hard to pass up... now if you want the 7.62x39 rounds I say get a AK platform because a lot of times the AR platform but shooting 7.62 can have some problems but to each down.. I'm currently doing a AR pistol build 7.5inch barrel chambered in 7.62x51 aka .308 and can't wait to shoot fireballs lol

Bear Creek makes a Good quality gun their parts are better than most milspec and Ive dealt with them all. I would say you'd be happy with this if you're not a builder.

I guess you need to figure out 'what will this caliber do that my AR-15 can't'. All your .223/5.56 share the same round. Buy this and you will need to invest in a different size round. That is the main reason I haven't bought anything in .308 yet...and of course, no need for one. But 85% of my arsnal can be filed under that. Who here has bought something they don' need???

That's the feedback I needed. Guess I didn't need about 20 of the firearms I have purchased. One more won't kill me. Just have to start purchasing another caliber when looking for ammo

I purchased a Bear Creek 300 BLK upper w BCG recently for $199 and I was very impressed with fit, finish, quality. It was on sale directly from Bear Creek Armory and their flat rate shipping was only $10. I definitely plan to buy another.

Not a bad deal, but personally I'd get a Tennessee Arms hybrid lower for $30, and LPK for $30 and a stock kit somewhere to taste.

Bear Creek makes good quality reliable product at exceptional prices. This will work the same as a 556 AR if there's an issue put on an adjustable gas block and you'll be good to go!

How reliable are these compared to an AK? Besides ergonomics and optic mounting what are the real world advantages/disadvantages of a 7.62 AR?

I built an AR-47 by parts with Aero Precision upper, lower and HG. Spinta Precision H-barrel, Aim Surplus NiB BCG and has shot flawlessly since day one. I initially built it because it was going to be cheaper to shoot than 5.56. With a Burris 1-3X optic im getting 3" groups at 100 tards with Geco FMJ brass. Another bug plus is ability to swap uppers and shoot a completely different caliber. This specific rifle cost a lot more when I was building mine but I would not hesitate to buy this ine If given the chance to do it again.

Is the AR 7.62x39 more accurate than the AK 47 7.62x39?

Most of those where made before 7.62x39 got popular in an AR format. This they only bolts avalible where 556. Now BCG's are purpose built for the AR platform. This unless you get an odd ball old BCG you should be fine. Although this was a problem 5+ years ago. I have over 2500 rounds through my radical arms 7.62x39 ar and it's still running flawless. Think I paid 500. It's by far my cheapest AR but one of my favorite. So much so I spent $400 sprucing it up with a better trigger, Geiselle Hamdguard, muzzle break, magpul stock, etc.... Runs like a champ and is fairly accurate. Even with cheaper ammo. Red Star runs well through it.

I've had my PSA 762x39 ar upper for 2 years now. As long as I use a lower with a steel hammer and not polymer I haven't had a single problem. We are well into 4000 rounds of assorted Russian garbage and it runs perfect. For some reason the gun seems to shoot softer with a dpms fixed stock lower. The longer buffer tube or heavier weight maybe. We only run the ACS mags or ASC. This is like running a semi auto 30-30. Great white tail gun.

Anybody had the bolt face split yet on a 5.56 bcg milled out to accept the 7.62? I've read and observed that milling a 5.56 bolt face out to accept the 7.62 leaves very little material around the circumference of the bolt face. A .308 bcg seems the better fit.

Love my 7.62x39 AR. Love having the AR format and modularity along with the. 30 caliber punch. Unlike the .308 AR10, the 7.62x39 still has alot of power in the smaller, lightweight package that takes standard AR15 parts and accessories. I built my rifle but have had friends with bear Creek rifles and they were good for the price of you don't want to build your own.

I built one with a 22mods4all.com upper and it's been flawless since round one....very happy and spent less than this price. Although if someone wasn't into building one then this is a decent deal.

I would grab a blem lower from PSA and the proven Hardened Arms upper. Its an excellent combo for a budget AR47

I picked up a radical firearms 7.62x39 AR and absolutely love it. One of my favorite AR's to shoot now. Never had any issues although the mags can be a bit tricky. I've stuck with ASC and been very happy. Don't hesitate and pick one up. Although I've read some reviews they can be touchy but again never had any issues and they are a freaking blast to shoot. Heck mines super accurate if you can believe it. Dropped a vertex strikefire 2 on it although mine is a free float barrel and I'm am

I also have a radical 7.62x39 upper and it eats steel case ammo with ease. ASC mags and zero issues. The only issue I had was a very loose barrel that they fixed at their HOUSTON shop.

Requesting some input from someone that has one of these (AR-15 Rifle 7.62 x 39). Please provide any personal experience with the gun.

I'm really interested in this gun, but have no experience with Bear Creek. Thanks in advance...

Kinda tardy to the party, but I picked one of their side charging AR's in 7.62. Pretty gun, we got it from a 3rd party and it had apparently undergone a few treatments that, let's say were not necessarily BCA spec changes... After we ran into trouble ~300 rounds in, I called Josh in their warranty department, got a shipping label that day, and sent it back to them. I had been following the tracking about when they would receive it, and they got it at 10:00 AM. By 1:00 PM that day it was on the way back to me with a new trigger. So, not only did they sort me out quickly, they did it without question or blame for a problem that I doubt had anything to do with them. As far as I am concerned, this is a textbook example of customer service from company that cares about their reputation. Again, this was my experience with them, but that said, if I was buying another AR, I would buy it from them.

Hope this helps someone...

I have a Bear Creek AR 15 I am very happy with it. Functions well. It is easily more accurate than I am. Fit and finish is as good and better than alot of other builders, even those that are twice as expensive. I would have no problem buying another.

Depending on your affinity towards psa they have a complete lower shipped for $159.99. They have a 16" upper w/o bcg for $236.99 shipped. Aimsurplus has your choice of bcgs (all 3 choices are currently in stock which doesn't happen often) ranging from $100-$120 depending on how pretty you want it. All you need after that would be a charging handle, mag, & deal with the ffl transfer fee.

BCA makes superior parts to PSA I use both but always go BCA over most Mil spec parts especially barrels!
