So... those gougers who are sitting on money and ammo... you believe your angry rant here is going to affect them in any way?
Just a friendly reminder that surplus 7.62x54R is the next closest to the chopping block. Stockpile now or cry later.
Also write your representatives to put in place a piece of legislation to block any potential future ban, tax or any other device the feds may use to interfere with us obtaining ammunition.
I found myself shaking my head while reading this article. A couple of the gems:
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is shelving a proposal to ban a popular but highly lethal type of bullet, amid opposition from gun-rights advocates and hundreds of members of Congress.
The weapons would still work without the M855s but they would no longer be capable of firing body-armor piercing ammo.
I'm glad some of the comments below the article call the author out on this crap.
The problem is the people who wrote and proof read this stuff aren't experts by any means on the subject. Look at Congress; we let a bunch of lawyers and failed "businessmen" decide how the economy and environment works....or should!

Had the Obama administration and that egg in their face backdated -cough -cough; 'Publishing Error' M855 paperwork not been discovered, they would have never backed down.
Just like he won't back down with his backdoor dealings with Iran, despite Commander Obama being the only American that thinks dealing with a country that wants every American dead is a good thing. Maybe it was Michelle's idea, but either way it just shows he's gone rogue and forgot who he represents.
This M855 debacle is surely a rare win for the good guys. The good guys will get another win on January 20th 2016, when Commander Obama is shown the door.

I had the foresight to spend most of last year buying ammo when 855 was 33 cents per round. When the proposed ban happened the first thing I did was to run out with $500 to get as much as I could, up to my self imposed price limit of 50 cents.
Everybody was out of stock, so I got lucky.
Even when the veteranos keep saying, "we've been thru these cycles and scares before, just be patient" I can't help myself. As soon as someone tells me it's not available to me I want it even more.
I appreciate that honesty, but that kind of panic buying is a big part of the ammo problem.
I bought 1000 SS109 projectiles..... at around a dime each. That way if it did go through I could reload for a while.

I wonder if the ones selling ammo at RIP OFF prices over the past 6 years are pi$$ed off they cant RIP us OFF on this ammo now! Better luck next time GOUGERS!
