These plates are not NIJ certified. If the plates went through the NIJ Compliance Testing Program, performed by NIJ, (as you seem to be claiming) they must have failed. You say they are made in the USA. Please name the USA manufacturer and/or distributor.

Great ccw gun as long as you don't want to add accessories like night sights or lights. Just enough weight to be reliable with a 9mm cartridge, not as sensitive to limp wristing than a couple of competitors, who may be slightly lighter, but have less mass in the slide to absorb the recoil force and return in it in a straight line if the shooter lets the muzzle flip up too far. Being a single stack, it tends to fit smaller hands better than a double stack. Only comes with one mag, so when shopping for spares, I like the Ruger extended 9 rd mags that fit my whole med large hand pretty well, just don't look as good in my opinion as the shorter 7 rd mags, but gives you a full 10 rds with one in the chamber. Locked and Loaded also has the mags at a decent price, $24/$27, and current pricing on the gun is pretty good too at 209, plus 19.99 shipping. Just be aware with Locked and Loaded, the prices are low but expect 3 weeks or so before it arrives at your FFL with no way to shorten it in my multiple experiences with them. A good value for your small summer carry/backup when wearing lighter clothing or as a smaller purse gun for the ladies.

I have one of these super cheap dots. I was actually surprised at how decent it was for less than 40 bucks. It feels as solidly built as other dots I've paid many multiples of that price for, the shake awake has functioned flawlessly, the brightness buttons have a nice positive tactile feel, the windage and elevation turrets seem of decent quality and offer a noticeable click on adjustment, and it has held zero on a 9mm striker pistol. My only two criticisms are that the emitter seems to be on the low end as far as refresh rate, if you shake the unit around the dot has a bit of a trail going place to place instead of being constant, and the glass has a noticeable blue tint when looking through it. Hardly dealbreakers especially given the price since neither affects functionality at all.

Came with an extra CR2032 too, one installed and one packaged. Just a nice touch.

Directly compared to a $200 Swampfox Justice, the CVLife has better feeling buttons, better adjustment turrets, and performs similarly otherwise.

Decide for yourself if you want to keep paying more for the same old recycled pistol dot sights with different brand names on em, but this was a bit of an eye opener for me.

Sadly you are not correct. These are Made in the USA and are currently warn by a large % of the Los Angeles First Responders. Also note that these are NIJ Tested to meat the following standards.

Rated at Level IIIA protection, capable of stopping 9mm and .44 Mag rounds up to 1,400 FPS. No rifle ammunition protection.
