Good gun, great accuracy, trigger a lil heavy feeling, alas it’s design has been surpassed.

High bore axis, no rail, short grip with flush fit mag, photoluminescent sights (like the p10c), low round count given the competition. Sadly this falls to the arena of nostalgia—James Bond and the like. For a hot sec he did carry this.

I’ve been kicking myself for not buying this gun sooner but it was $300 a few weeks ago. Anyone know why the jump in price?

Probably the .22 version that you saw

I really do not understand why more people do not like this handgun. It's fantastic. Also, I have bought a lot of guns through Gunbuyer. They are great to deal with.

I can't find anywhere that the PPS has issues. However, Walther does have a recall right now on their CCP.

For $6 more, you get an extra mag and phosphoric sights (which are useless). https://www.gunbuyer.com/walther-pps-m2-limited-edition-9mm-with-night-sights-2807696-wal2807696-gb.html...

Lanbo's Armory has factory magazines for the PPS M2 cheap as I've seen them at $31 plus shipping.

The 7-round is the Goldilocks size for my medium hand. The 8-round is the same price. They offer reasonable USPS First-Class shipping for small packages.

20 rounds in during its first trip to the range, the white paint from the rear sight fell off. After a google search, apparently this happens a lot to this model because of the cheap sights used.

White finger nail polish fixed my problem. The white dot on my front sight fell off. I love my PPS it's the best single stack 9mm I have shot. 300 flawless rounds. It does need a slight sight adjustment, what a great price.

I could Not find any of these to hold/try out around me. I held a ccp the other day and the sight picture left a bit to be desired. I do not know if this model Walter shares the same sights as the Ccp. Any background would be appreciated.

This gun is fabulous!!! I've found a new love and my G43 is jealous.

This gun is what the Predator would use for CCW. Very accurate and the ergos are luxurious. Not replacing my shield though but I like it much more than the xds. Only draw back I had is finding a reasonably priced quality kydex iwb holster.

Try the CYA Supply orDara holster. I now use the CYA IWB holsters for all my handguns. They are veteran owned and can be found on their website (https://www.cyasupply.com/...) or through Amazon.

I just stumbled onto CYA Supply last year for my holster needs. Hands down one of the best IWB holsters I've ever used. Customer service is top notch too. I emailed them a request for some swag and they sent me a bunch of cool patches.

Everything is a Glock copy. I own dozens of handguns, but Glock is the gun chosen by more people who risk their life on a daily basis than any other handgun period. ilitary and Police carry them for a reason, they can just as easily get any other gun for the same price "when you buy a hundred thousand guns. Now Sig got the Army contract, but that is for guns, service, parts etc. Glosk is still the go to gun for LEO and Military. I have PPQ's and H&K's, Sigs, Colts, Smiths, but carry a Glock for SD.cause they work all the time, I have had Glocks sit for 15 years loaded, and fire like day 1 when taken out of storage. Only a good S&W revolver is more reliable.

Everything is a GLOCK Copy??? Wow what a Naive Statement! So anything polymer and striker fired is a GLOCK Copy, what sense does that make, None! That's like saying any wheel gun is a Colt Clone. The PPS and many other guns are for more Ergonomical and have far better Triggers than any GLOCK. The G43 was not even the first of the polymer wonders to be this size the Shield was so why wouldn't it be a Shield Copy??? Just because something has a similar look and function doesn't make it s copy a copy is something exactly the same. Based on your comment all cars are Ford Copies?? Anyways in my opinion with exception of the sights the PPS is the best in its size category of Striker Fired Pistol. Personally I'd go just a little bigger and go with the HK VP9SK but you're not getting one for $300. Great Price, Great Gun, Can't go wrong picking one up!

I have a glock 43 and the shield 45 cal. I've have FTE in my glock but never my shield. I love both guns but carry the shield way more and the trigger is smoother then my glock

Stop it. Glock is an HK copy. Sure Glock is a good gun, but Smith makes good gun, sig makes good guns etc. Personally I trust my shield because I have had bad luck with the 43. Guess the shield is a glock 43 copy? Are HiPowers 1911 copies? Personally I don't like how the glock slide rails peen at the locking block. I remember glocks came with plastic guide rods while most other comparable pistols had metal guides. Guess glock decided to copy what everyone else did in gen 4. Didn't glock copy replacement back straps? McDonald's sells more hamburgers than the best local joint in New Orleans, but I wouldn't consider a Big Mac a 5 star burger. Lol

You glockaholics suck up too much marketing.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Hk 9mm with the squeeze cocking striker firing mechanism. If so that would be the one thing Gaston Glock copied, the lack of a hammer. Otherwise the man built a unique system copied the world over. No better indicator exists that anything was designed well than copies. Obviously many of the patents in the Glock have expired based on the many different firearm manufacturers selling their inexpensive versions of the most popular selling pistol in the world for now. I've owned the Sig Sauer, Hk, Beretta, Ruger, S&W, Remington, Springfield, Kimber, Taurus, Colt, Glocks and others and they're all pretty good. I'd have to say the stock triggers pretty much suck, but for less than $30 a Zev trigger connector bar and any spring kit upgrade plus some polishing turns them into a very competitive firing mechanism. The only other handgun more customizable I have is the 1911.

google "pps m2 barrel peening" before you buy, not buying one until walther acknowledges the problem

1 vote
0 votes

are you talking about the barrel being peened right by the feed ramp from the trigger bar? If so, that's NOT in any way a new issue. it's been part of the runaround and goes back to the PPS classic. It peens away a little bit of the metal back and doesn't get any worse. it's been discussed ad naeseum for almost a decade since the PPS m1 came out. It IS a design flaw, but except for one or two people, it's usually very minor (although I agree with you that it should NOT be happening to begin with if designed properly)

My wife just got her Texas CHL. I ordered the gun last night, happy birthday darling.

I bought it from iAmmo for $359 plus $9 shipping for a total of $368. This is a better deal as it comes with 3 mags instead of 2 mags. Extra 7 round mag, and the mags aren't really cheap!

They stopped doing this deal nearly 3 weeks ago. Since I missed it I went with the LE model which is 2 dollars more than current standard model from iammo but shipping is free from gun buyer.com. 394 plus my tx fee. Still made out cheaper than buying an extra mag for the basic model plus I get feaux night sights.

The pistol shoots very well though. I shoot it much better than the shield.

damn, wish i'd have seen that before i ordered at gunbuyer. for $7 extra than what I paid at gunbuyer I could have gotten an extra mag??? f@ck me :(........maybe I should get a second one!

Get me one also

IMO, I cannot see any real advantage to buying the LE version. I do not want phosphorus sites. I would just switch them out for TFX's. I would probably never use the 8 rd mag except at range. I would rather buy my own sites and a couple more 7 rd mags.

Gun prices going to fall more. No reason to rush in. How's PPS vs shield performance center?

Just bought 2 shields from GB. If the PPS M2 had 1 or 2 extra mags I would have pushed buy already. Guess like you said....No rush; offer runs until September 15th. Ill wait to see if a better deal pops up elsewhere.

Snagged me a Shield at $299 from GB too. Then I had to get the PPQ M2 in 9mm. I got it today. Going to take them to the range tomorrow. Plus I have been buying a lot of stuff. Getting ready to pull the switch on a PPS M2. Somebody stop me......lol

Hopefully the price on the G43 will come down soon. I want to round out my single stack collection. Then I think I will start looking at the double stack sub compacts again.

How do you like your PPQ M2?

1 vote
0 votes

the ppq M2 is nothing short of magical. That trigger is one of the sexiest things alive. I HIGHLY recommend it as well as the PPS... the shield is still my go to single stack, but the pps is a work of art too. Just got mine in yesterday (I had a pps about last year, but I sold it because I was stupid and ran into financial difficulties, now it's back in the stable)

I took it to the range today and shot a lot of guns. The PPQ I shot only one magazine and stopped. It was very accurate. I just did not like it. The bottom of the grip curves out (forward) and that forced my pinky forward and made my grip uncomfortable. Also, the mag release sticks up a whole lot and bothered my shooting thumb. I have really big hands. So, I knew right away, it wasn't for me. I think my neighbor is buying it from me. I have a G43. I love it. I have the Battlefield Green w/ TFX sites as well as Taran Tactical mag plates which add a round. It goes with me everywhere in my IWB Boltaron CYA (CYA Suppy Co.) holster. I wouldn't sell it for anything. Lastly, I may be just too accustomed to Glocks. I am looking at the CZ-USA CZ P-10 COMPACT 9MM in FDE. Or, I may just end up with an FDE Glock 19. I have a Glock 23 which I would not sell either. Plus, I have several Ruger revolvers I will never part with.

The FFL I use is a Pawn Shop near me. They only charge $10 to transfer. They asked me today...where is the war? I have bought so many guns during these rebates. Every time you buy 2 handguns within 5 days (in NC) they have to do an extra form to the Shadow Government (ATF). I told them I'm not done yet. It's a buyers market. I'm sure more manufacturers are going to jump in the rebate sea. Otherwise it's going to be a long, hot, and dry summer for them. Bring on the deals......

it's actually a federal law than when buying more than 2 guns in a 5 day period you have to alert the ATF.. .every state has it, even the free ones like mine (AZ)... and I'm the same way. I have an FFL who does $15 per transaction and I can do multiple guns per transaction. picked up a PPS AND a shield this week, + 2 stripped lowers, and I usually buy a gun every month from him on average as it is. He said the same thing I did, it's a buyers market and he's been going nuts before things shoot up again. Buy em cheap, stack em deep

Private sale lol. The only thing i can take comfort in is that I truly believe the gun was worth more than I paid for it. As they say, comparison is the enemy of happiness.

ah damn, I tried. I bought one in 2016 and was forced to sell it (I got $400, which is what I bought it for) and was devestated at having to sell it, but at this price it's a no brainer
