I don't know, $5 extra doesn't seem too much for a flat trigger upgrade, but the photo does suggest both options are the same $29.95 price so I get your point as well.
Side note: based on AT3's website I would say they are the same manufacturer or both companies source their FCG's from the same common wholesaler. Who knows if that is a good thing or bad thing though.

P.S. What annoys me about Dirty Bird and AR15 Discounts is they are the same company yet seem to pretend not to be. Packages from one brand will bear the label of the other, etc. Also their websites have completely different pricing structures, shipping rates, etc. I have ended up order from both companies the same day because pricing on one website for certain items was out of line compared to the other and ended up paying S/H on both orders (which I calculated into my decision making process). Dirty Bird's free shipping limit is only $50 but their pricing is normally higher so I am betting that is how they subsidize that lower threshold.
$34.95 is still a good price for the flat trigger upgrade but yeah it is the bait and switch tactic I find insulting.
I'm certain these triggers were made by Schmid and relabeled for others. DB doesn't try to hide the Schmid S stamp it's clearly visible but they don't go on to tell you if it is off-the-shelf-Schmid or made to Dirty Bird specs.
There are a bunch of false flag vendors and drop shippers out there. DB and AR15 Discounts are not alone. Leave us not forget Davidson Defense and their now defunct 3 other sites. Then there is Ammunition Depot, 2Ammo, Justincaseammo, Gold Coast Armory etc. I swear you have to be a detective to shop online anymore.
Have you ever been unhappy with anything you bought from DB or AR15 discounts? They are way better than Davidson IMO, and I have always found great deals at DB and AR15. Norton shopping guarantee is a nice security blanket too. FYI I think blackrifledepot is part of the DB/AR15 network too. I have never bought from blackrifledepot but I have been very happy with DB/AR115
Sporty-I have had no issues with any of those you mentioned other than their sales tactics. Like bait and switch in their posts and misrepresenting some products as their own when they are clearly not. That's not to say those aren't good products it's just the principle of the thing. BRD lately does seem to look a lot like they're part of the same family as DB and AR15D. You shouldn't have any issues with any of them just do your research. And yes they are all way better than Davidson Defense.
I'm not the person you asked but I have been pleased with everything I've purchased from both DB and AR15 discounts. In terms of quality (even on their branded items), ship speed, and overall OTD price.
Personally I don't think AR15Discounts nor DB are (primarily) drop shippers. Dirty Bird shipments all seem to come from the same place in CA and AR15Discounts I can actually drive to their distribution warehouse and they even let you pick up orders there. Now, they are clearly both resellers / repackagers / rebranders. They have lots of private label products that I wouldn't be surprised if changed supplying vendor shipment to shipment....which can be an entirely different set of problems. Back to back orders of the same SKU could be functionally different products or quality if their vendor changes.
And I get you with the bait and switch point.

Just like Dirty Bird to present you with two options but only one option is $29.95.
