Mine 3 weeks ago came to $261, but that included another year's membership. Did you get it for $227 including a renewal? If so, you got the best deal I've seen. This is why I'm a fan of SG!

You need to know that the $10 "gift" coupons work like any other coupon, but not exactly like a gift card. Because you are allowed only one coupon per order ever, you will likely never use these coupons or if you do, you will give up savings from a different coupon that can't be added on (like for free shipping or extra money off or both). It's a pretty clever marketing gimmick but is not the real deal IMHO. A little underhanded. So I think you need to add $20 back on to the gun.deals net price for your true price. FYI.
As a comparison, most if not all other stores have a separate box for gift cards, in addition to a coupon box, so you can use both at the same time.
Maybe these are different than the ones I received for doing membership. They are listed as coupons, not gift cards. And I now see there is a gift box and coupon box. Tried to edit the above within minutes, but can't do it. In any case, the coupon named is expired a while now.
I've used them to by small dollar items and then use a free shipping code. Bought a couple cleaning kits and some 50 round boxes of 22lr like this.

I'm a member too, but I get $283 or close to that with shipping (shipping =$19.99) Seems like it's different than when you did it I think.
Sportsman's Guide has this in-stock for considerably less money even if not a member.
I placed my backorder through them a couple weeks ago and it said expected delivery was February. It will be here on Saturday. I'd definitely go with SG even if it is in backorder.

Yes, it should offer you to renew. Mine was due in March of next year and it has been offering my renewal for at least 2 months. It may not if you just signed up. But it works out saving you $56 by renewing with this deal...

I'm still getting charged $19.99 for shipping as only one of the coupon codes can be used. How did you manage free shipping AND the double discount? Best I can get is $284.97
When they offer renewal on the membership, select "no" then it will offer free shipping and show that you're saving $56 by renewing the $29.99 membership early. Hope that helps!

Still better off with a lower powered Leupold VX-3 which is about the same price after Leupolds $100 rebate. Not illuminated, but much better glass and far lighter weight.
Where are you finding a suitable VX that is comparable the strike eagle? I can't find one on sportsman guide...

Just note it says its on Backorder till January 2016...not sure how accurate that is.
