The proprietary gas system ensures the projectile has exited the barrel before the cam opens and ejects the casing. This allows for the smooth cycling of rounds and reduces the risk of malfunction. The Smith and Wesson M&P 5.7 is fully ambidextrous with mirrored controls and reversible mag release. The frame features a full-size grip with enhanced texturing. The slide on the S&W M&P 5.7 features three-dot white sights as well as an optics-cut. The internal hammer-fired single-action is paired with a light, crisp flat-faced trigger that has an audible reset, allowing for shots to easily be fired in rapid succession.
