Bought this gun 8 months ago and it is great little gun . Ruger Has a great customer service and thats one thing i looked for when buying a gun. wanted to buy a Walther 416-ds 22 lr ar rifle but it comes with a adjustable stock and 25 round magazine . my state has restriction fixed stock &15 round magazine . so i contacted Walther and explained that .if they could make a compliant rifle . they sent me a email back saying" we are not going to change the way the rifle is made just because of stupid states having stupid laws. we will just make guns for the other states". great response . i will never buy any gun from Walther. im glad i did not buy that Walther P-22 at the time. did not know much about the company or the gun. now i know about Walther company and they don't care about customers a .i always felt Ruger was a better company. i dealt with them for many years .

What is wrong with the response you received? Sorry, I'm not seeing a problem with the company's position even if the delivery could have been more suave. It's not a gun manufacturer's responsibility or obligation to make models compliant with a particular state. They do so by choice and it's not always a cost-effective option.

the response should of be a little different like maybe in the future we may put some compliant models out. not a comment my state has stupid laws. we are just going sell to other states. Ruger&smith &wesson make compliant guns .they want to service all customers . you said its not a manufactures responsibility or obligation to make compliant models for different states . that is true. so i have no obligation to buy a gun like a pistol that is ok in my state.or support a company that does not care

Bull's-eye, to the best of my knowledge the states with 15-round limits are New Jersey and Colorado. Where are you seeing guns compliant to those "15-round" states on the S&W and Ruger websites? I'm not seeing any which makes them no different than Walther. They have some 10-round models as does Walther.

If they responded with the reply you suggested above or something to the same effect they'd be creating an expectation that they might make a model compliant to your state in the future. (Which they clearly are not.) The state compliant models you refer to are for CA and MA which by default are okay in a 15-round capped state because those are 10-round capped states but by no means are Ruger or S&W making a model just for your state either.

I love the appearance of this firearm, I wish it were chambered in 9mm. Not a fan of 22lr.

Ruger pretty much copied the styling of the Walther P22, so if you like this look, check out the Walther PPQ / PPX.

Bought one. Looks like the best deal with the laser and ruger promo so far. Anyone know how fast cdnn ships? Should be a good plinking/training pistol. Got this mainly to save money at the range since it resembles my sp2022 9mm in functionality.

I love my SR22, it eats ANYTHING I feel fit to shove up it's pipe.

I found a few 1000rd boxes my 12 years late grandfather had in his basement complete with heavy corrosion on the projectiles. I dumped 1k through the SR in one blast of a day, and the only malfunctions were 6 or 7 mis-feeds which I imagine were mag related. After the break-in I've yet to have any malfunctions (I have 5 factory mags).

The trigger is GARBAGE until about 500 soaking wet rounds, It's gritty and the break has an AK slap feel that actually fatigues the trigger finger (call me a pussy, but my trigger finger is one of my top 3 appendages I'm not eager to test the limits of carpal tunnel). I had plans to send it back to Ruger (they offered to look at it) but I read that others saw little improvement after RMA'ing it. So I figured I had nothing left to loose by breaking it in before messing with, which solved the problem for me. I think the new ones have threaded barrels, I got mine the week they came out so mine doesn't. If you get an old one I recommend the TwinTech barrel, It's been great for me and the accuracy is what above what you would expect from a tacti-cool plinker pistol.

excellent price! The gun alone for $279 is a sweet price and this laser is anywhere from $80-$100. Buy this and slap the laser on something more substantial for HD/etc. enjoy

great deal if you could sell the laser for about $100
