The Solo300 upper should fit well with this type of lower.

The only advantage of the 180 is being able to put a folding stock on it and it still function. Had it been adopted it probably would have went through some changes. The M16 to M4 really isn't that much of a change. I wonder if the U.S. Military ever looked at the FN FNC. Had one of those and it was very nice.

I assume this is to be used with bufferless AR systems?

It’s an AR-180 lower receiver. It doesn’t use an AR-15 type buffer.

It's a brn180 lower which is an ar180 styled lower made specifically for the brn180 upper.

Everybody is googling.... what's an AR-180?

Basically a vastly better design than the AR15. Jim Sullivan and Eugene Stoner both agreed it was probably a much better design by Stoner, but the military had already invested too much into the -15 to actually consider the -18. Hint: look at the SCAR or Bren design

I don't think so. Maybe in some elements, but the original is made from 80s lunch box tin. It was designed to be a 3rd world alternative to the ar15. I think the last commercial release had problems that brownelles solved. Personally I think the ar15 was way ahead of its time. If the ar didn't exist the ar18 looks like a progression towards the ar15. The ar18 is redundant in an ar or ak existing world. I think the wire stock t91 is a better rendering just my 2¢.
