Why the need for a “Compliant Rifle Grip”?

Per recent California law, centerfire AR-15 rifles with bullet buttons are now considered assault weapons and must be registered before June 30th, 2018. Converting your rifle to a “featureless” rifle will mean that you will NOT be required to register it as an assault weapon. A “featureless” rifle is a fully functional rifle without the generic characteristics (or features) that define an assault weapon (such as a pistol grip, flash suppressor, telescoping stock, etc.). A “featureless” centerfire AR-15 rifle CAN have a normal and fully functional magazine release. Our CRG-15 rifle grip does NOT meet the California definition of a pistol grip (see details below*) due to the “forced” placement of the web of the trigger hand; therefore, we have classified this product as a “Compliant Rifle Grip”. The CRG-15 grip is an important aspect in the building of a “featureless” rifle.

Why the CRG-15 Rifle Grip?

There are other options to eliminating the pistol grip on your rifle to make it compliant or “featureless”, but many of them are not comfortable or functional such as kydex grip wraps or grip fins. Many also don’t look very good, or are downright ugly! Others are very expensive and difficult to change back if you want to go shooting in another state. In contrast, our CRG-15 rifle grip is very affordable and only requires one screw to install. We also designed it to be as comfortable and functional as possible, while keeping consistent with the modern look of the AR-15 platform (it matches other premium furniture already on your rifle). We believe our CRG-15 rifle grip is the highest quality, the best value, the best looking, and the most comfortable “non-pistol” grip available... we hope you agree!

We know how difficult it is to manufacture and bring products to market. We didn't want to make any empty promises or do pre-orders over the last year, so we kept this under wraps until we had them "in our hands and ready to ship". They are available now, and we hope this one post helps get the word out as we consider other Gun.Deals advertising plans. Thank you for your time.

California wasn’t always like this. It, and other states, have experienced a political pendulum over the years. Part of that is due to good people moving away while few others stay in the fight and vote. The bummer is these bad ideas usually begin in California and spread to other states. Texas is probably pretty secure for many years to come, but it only takes a generation or two of political inactive-ness on our part for the pendulum to start swinging the other way.

Welcome Sparrow Dynamics.

I'm interested. But before I buy, any videos of it being used? If like to see it in action while shooting.

Good question super32. No video yet, but we are working on that.

As with any featureless grip, it is "different" and takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it is awesome because it gives you full control of the rifle by allowing you to wrap your thumb around if you want (like the Hammerhead grip), or keep your thumb to one side (similar to the MonsterMan grip). We believe it looks better than both of those options, and is more comfortable too. The reaction most people have when I hand them my rifle is "Wow, not bad!" I think that is a pretty good reaction to have with a featureless grip (it is definitely not the reaction I had with my Hera stock).

The nice thing about this option is that it is inexpensive, you can have a normal mag release, and you can switch back to a normal rifle very easily at any time (you can't say that for other "fixed mag" options). To me, featureless is the better way to go now since the passage of SB880, and I also feel that our grip is the best first step to a good featureless build.

I hope that helps!!

Keep an eye on our website for that video, or better yet, sign up on our email list. We promise not to bombard you with emails... We will send out occasional emails only if there is something important to share such as a new product, or a new video, etc. I also hope to post a little more about it on calguns.net

Hello Gun.Deals community! Sparrow Dynamics is new here. We have worked really hard over the last year to bring this new grip to market. We have been in manufacturing for 15 years (in other markets), but wanted to bring a featureless grip option to California that looked like it actually belonged on a modern AR-15 rifle. We felt that other options available are either very uncomfortable, or look really out-of-place.

Check out our Featureless Information page for some good legal info and general "featureless" info too. Our new GRG-15 Compliant Rifle Grip works awesome with our safety selector, so be sure to check that out too! Thanks for your time and support.
