Description

*UPDATE 9:38PM CDT JULY 5, 2015 *
Looks like Troy has deactivated the other codes. The only code that works is"fourth".

Marking this as expired.

During checkout, use coupon code "FOURTH-PR". Once that's added, add another coupon code with the current one that is promoted on the site "Fourth". Then add a third coupon code "FOURTH-SM".

All three will stack. Enjoy :)

Shipping is free for orders over $100

2 the 2 Guys internet fighting, I've managed 12 females at the same time in small working conditions and never had an issue from them close to what i'm seeing of you 2 ladies. It's embarassing personally for me as a man. Really stupid.

As for my comment, Take a second and read this, and see how upset Troy was at Dick's for doing the same thing WITH Troy rifles.

Someone should toss that into the facebook battle lol

Troy industries marketing sent out emails in advance way before their 4th of july sale maybe a week or two in advance. In that email they said there would be additional discounts over the weekend and to check back. Sounds great, they got my attention and I went to their web site placed the order with the coupon codes.
Sunday evening - I get this bull$hit email saying they'll throw in a battlemag and a maximum of (one) discount code for 25% off the $499 upper. WTF ? Is that not fraud? I cant believe they baited people days before the sale and now pull this stunt.
What's you take?

I can find no option allowing me to cancel my order. I understand if they choose to cancel the orders, but telling people they are going to disregard an agreed sales price and go ahead and charge their credit cards for a much higher amount is not just flat out wrong, it is criminal. Troy will be stepping into a shitstorm if they choose to do this. Cancelling my order is fine, charging my credit card for an amount I did not agree to will be reported as theft to both my local law enforcement and their local law enforcement, as well as my Bank, and every Consumer Protection Agency I can find.

From Troy's email response: "The email notice you received this weekend after your order was placed was an auto message from our system alerting us to which products you wish to receive. When our sales associates process your order this week, you will receive a final invoice. They will add a free BattleMag® to each order, apply a promo code to deduct 25%, and adjust shipping to free UPS ground if your order total exceeded $100."

I'd just reply to their email saying that you want to cancel the order...and then call them tomorrow to verify.

I'd be F-ing shocked if they try to charge anyone's credit card for a single cent more than the original price (i.e., WITHOUT an EXPLICIT approval of some sort from the customer)...I wouldn't sweat that at all.

If they pull that crap, they are DONE (but I really don't think that's going to happen).

I for one am not going to do Troy's job for them. They can cancel on their own or ship at the ordered price. Anything beyond that and we are going to have problems.

You are seriously retarted. They emailed you with the mistake and informed you their plan of action. Why would they cancel your order if they don't know if you want it cancelled or not? It's your money, therefore your responsibility to inform them what you want done with your order now that you are aware of the mistake and the planned changes to you order. Seriously grow the fuck up.

What the hell is retarted? You are truly stupid in addition to being nothing more than a troll on this website. In case you hadn't noticed no one cares about your opinion and no one is taking your bait.

Your best retort is a comment about a typo and calling someone a stupid troll when someone tells you to grow the fuck up? Well played indeed!

You come on here and act like a fucking 2 year old because you didn't get your way on an obvious mistake. Do you notice, the only ones who agree with you, are the other ones acting like 2 year olds who tried to take advantage of the mistake?

Really goes to show you HOW fucked up America has become. People try and take advantage of a mistake by a business that is trying to honor the birth of our nation. Instead of acknowledging the obvious mistake, they bitch and cry and threaten and bash and pretty much act like little children not getting their way. Makes you proud to be an American doesn't it?

A company who is honoring our nation and at the same time craping on the second amendment. you should do some research before you comment Troy fan boy.Good on you for siding with big business over the little guy though. class act throwing in F#$% bombs as well, what A way to show how grown you are and how immature the rest of us are LOL.

As far is I'm concerned, who they hire has nothing to do with me. It is their right to do what they want with their business. (As long as it's lawful) It's theirs. They also have the right to crap on the second amendment. The first amendment sorta says it's ok. You really must be a fair weather fellow. As long as it suits your needs it's ok, but if not well it's wrong and it's the devil.

What do I need to research? I probably know more about it than you do.

If the big business is in the right and the little guy is in the wrong, hell yeah I'm gonna side with big business. It's called ethics and having morals. I'm not trying to cheat anyone regardless of how much money they may or not have. I side with right.

And let me guess, your ordered something from this big business that craps on the second amendment but now that you find out your order isn't gonna be honored because of the mistake, you NOW feel like the little guy who is against big second amendment hating business . But you sure loved them when you made your order didn't you. Wink wink nudge nudge.

Again F' bombs and what not are a sign of me exercising my first amendment rights. Getting butt hurt about someone using the "fuck" word is a greater sign of immaturity. Instead of facing what is being said, you cry how the wording. Sorry for assuming you could handle it. Will keep that in mind in the future. (makes mental note: jp23 is a pussy and can't handle the big boy words)

Are we feeling bullied? Unable to respond and make any valid points so resorting to playing the victim to gain sympathy? Are you LOL'ing at the end of everything you say to hide your tears? Will it make you feel better if I said I was sorry? Do you need a hug?

Or better yet, put your big boy pants on. Grow a pair. If you can't handle what's being said, simply don't respond.

Your obviously an overly aggressive "retarted"with to much time on your hands posting on something that doesn't even pertain to you you are A joke. And not just in your own home and neighborhood anymore good deal.
throw out some more four letter words in your essay length posts you sound extremely eloquent.

How does it not pertain to me? Because I didn't make an order that I knew was a mistake and am not bitching about it afterwards?

How am I being aggressive? Because I say fuck? Jesus man, if you never said fuck before you really need to turn in your man card. It probably should have been revoked a long time ago.

And out of everything I said again, the best you can come up with is a typo? How about actually make a valid point against what I have said? Or how about trying to validate anything you said? Didn't think so. Keep playing the victim. It suits you.

Im 6'4" 250 ex military and far from A victim. fact is you sit there in the comfort of your home acting like your the man I bet this is your only outlet to make yourself feel like your tough when in the street you walk around with your head down quiet as A mouse. Telephone tough guys have always been lame.

The fact that you are 6'4", 250, lbs. and ex-military is supposed to mean anything? You came at me, you got confronted on it, you couldn't man up, makes you a victim. Not just of me, but of your own stupidity as well. Want proof, who else thumbs up their own posts in an argument?

Blah blah blah we've been sitting here laughing at you and your long winded emotional reposes all night get it together you old red ass. ps thats my brother hitting the thumbs up like it even matters.

LOL ok you seriously just made me laugh. And I'm laughing at you not with you, just so you understand.

Others who read this will get it.

You know jack shit about me. But in all your posts you try to make some personal attack against me or my real life. Don't worry I'm not offended. I'm a man and can take it. Plus like I said, you know jack shit about me. Worrying about your opinion or what you say about me is like worrying about the smell of the fart I passed last Tuesday, in the end it just doesn't fucking matter.

But apparently what I say matters to you. Every point I've made, about the topic or about you, you either ran away from and ignored or took offense from and tried to change. Then you try and attack me with something that makes me the aggressor.

You mention the 2nd amendment, so I mention the first and destroy your point, you run away and ignore it. You say I need to do research, but other than the fact of you saying, "they crap on the second amendment" you have brought NOTHING else to the table and instead try and divert topic to about me cussing. I say "LOL'ing after everything you say is you hiding your tears" you stop doing it.

The fact that you can't back up anything you say with facts at all but instead resort to slander and defamation sorta shows, me at least, you are a victim of stupidity and hypocrisy. And pretty much that you are my bitch. Now shut up and go make me a sandwich before i blacken your other eye.

PS my imaginary brother thinks you're a pussy too.

Yeah, I know what you mean...the bottom line is that this is their mistake...not yours/ours.

One more thing - from what I'm seeing now the "free Battlemag" thing isn't something "extra" for those people who placed an order using the stacking coupons...

If Troy is smart, they'll either change their mind and honor these orders (and I really don't THINK they'd be losing THAT much money)...or AT LEAST give the customers who placed these orders a LEGIT extra/bonus...maybe an extra 15-20% off...or something.

1 vote

Maybe when the Justice Department named the firearms industry as risky they had Troy Industries in mind. There will be lots of chargebacks if they process the orders at the higher prices.

1 vote
0 votes

Yeah, I just saw the "we apologize" email...

I'm not going to give them a REAL hard time...because I freely admit that I knew there was at least a possibility that it was a mistake...

HOWEVER, given the state of the market right now, I really wouldn't have been THAT surprised had they honored it.

I'm sure the vast majority of the orders will be cancelled by the customers...

It will be interesting to see how Troy responds.

That is, I'm not sure getting a free Battlemag is really going to smooth this one over for a lot of people.

UPDATE - if you guys haven't done so yet, check out their Facebook page - they are taking a serious beating right now...actually, "bludgeoning" is probably a more appropriate term.

IMHO, their real problem here is the state of the market. If this had happened a year ago, it would have been much more obvious that it was a mistake...but things are bad enough right now that c. 60% off really doesn't seem THAT ridiculous...

Common sense should have kicked in then. Why add "cannot be combined with any other offers" if they are going to allow multiple coupons? Why didn't they just have one coupon for 60% off instead of three? A little common sense goes a long way.

0 votes
0 votes

I'm pretty sure it's illegal for them to go ahead and add cost to orders already placed. They will most likely cancel orders. I placed an order received A conformation email and haven't seen any email since stating anything about coupons. If they cancel orders I'll just buy A BCM upper I'd rather not support A
more legit company anyway.

Here is the response from Troy

We understand that some confusion lies in the different promotion codes that were used to advertise our July Fourth Sale online this weekend. Five codes were created for five groups with each group receiving the same 25% off discount, special and free offers. These unique codes will help us understand our marketing efforts and influence future advertising and sales initiatives. The terms of the sale were clearly stated to all five groups with the standard restrictions including "cannot be combined with any other offers".

Customers who ordered during the promotion may notice a hold on their account. Troy Industries does not finalize orders or charge credit cards until the order is ready to process and ship. Thank you for your patronage. You’ll be receiving your final invoice in the next few days reflecting: one promo code and 25% savings, a free BattleMag® and free UPS ground shipping if the order total exceeded $100.

If you have yet to take advantage of our Independence Day promotion, visit troyind.com and use code “FOURTH” at time of checkout to take 25% off your order.

They just sent out an email stating that you were only allowed one coupon per order, and if you don't cancel, they will adjust the price with just 25% off, so get
To canceling boys.

The email I received does not say anything about canceling but I do read it to say they plan to charge a total applying only one 25% off code. No instructions on how to cancel or to cancel or they will continue with the order at the higher price. Canceling is one thing but raising the price without customer approval is super shady. And for the record, having multiple coupons that your site allows is not "confusion". That's a screw up on your part.

Seems like they are trying to gloss over the mistake and ignore people posting on Facebook, the least they could do is properly address the issue. I haven't been A fan as of late with their anti second amendment hiring practices. Thought I'd give them another chance, bad idea. Sucks for troy they will no doubt lose thousands more customers behind this fiasco but at least they got A bunch of unearned bs likes on Facebook and in this day and age they must figure screw customer service bogus Facebook likes is what matters lol. Midwest industries here I come.

Looks like they will try and charge the full amount to your cards, so cancel
Quickly.

what makes you think they will charge your card for more? they'll 99.9% cancel the order or contact you via email. No way are they going to charge the card for a higher amount. IF they do, that is an ahole move, maybe even illegal. canceling orders for price error is standard procedure.

OK Sounds like you ordered one. let me know if TROY desides to auto-bill your card for the increased amount. IMO that's not kosher, probably illegal. They'll have to have a CSR confirm every single order by phone or email. 0% of the customers who ordered will approve the increased amount. 100% of the customers assumed they were buying for $280 with a tripple stack coupon. Troy would be better off mass canceling.

A lot of you are idiots. You KNOW it was a mistake and are trying to take advantage. That's fine and good, shit happens, but what makes you idiots is getting upset if they don't honor the mistake. Just think about it. If you bought something for $10, you pay the cashier, thinking you handed them $10 but in actuality handed them $100, and you just walk away. Would you go back and ask for your change back on your mistake or would you just keep walking because it was your mistake? Seriously quit being greedy ass fuckers who complain about greed when you think businesses are being greedy.

Looks like Troy has deactivated 2 out of the 3 codes. The only code that seems to be valid is "fourth".

Doubtful that the orders with the stacked coupons go through. I placed two orders, one for the Fourth of July upper, the other for an Alpha VTAC 13" rail (I don't care for the look of the rail with the scope on the special upper). Read the details on that special upper and it specifically says that the "fourth" code can't be combined with any other offers. That will be their out for that mix-up. Not sure what conditions the other offer codes have, but I'd gather they are similar.

Between the two orders are nearly 300 order numbers.

They may have some margins on their prices, but it's doubtful they have 60% margins on their profits. And, it's really doubtful they are going to take a loss on 300+ orders.

That bein said, we can all be optimistic. If these ship, I'll have a 13" rail with included scope on the market.

I had items in my cart and the three promo codes entered, was looking to add more and when I went to the cart the price went up. I refreshed again and it went up again. Looking further to understand why the two extra promo codes were now deactivated.

will be done in my opinion. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Apparently you don't remember the troy/dicks debacle in December of 2012. All orders were canceled.

At this point in time I don't believe Troy is ignorant of this coupon stacking. If Troy is indeed aware of this and wanted it stopped, they would have simply turned off the coupons. There is no reason for Troy to be aware of this and allow people to continue stacking the coupons, with the intent of voiding/cancelling the orders on Monday. That would create too much bad publicity and piss too many people off. Allowing the coupon stacking to continue is generating a buzz about their products, and although the margins may be much slimmer, they may view this as an opportunity to win over/back many new/previous customers.

That said, if they are indeed aware this is going on, choose not to stop it, and plan to cancel these orders on Monday, that is a bit low.

I just placed a small order and the order number was just about 2000 higher than my order 24 hours ago. So I reckon that is a lot of orders in a 24 hour period, no? I'd hate to be the one that had to be responsible if it truly is an error.
