This is a never-before-seen configuration from Colt, and it's perfect for that lightweight AR you've been putting together. This Colt AR6720 Upper Receiver Group is special in that it comes with a lightweight-profile barrel. Barrels are often the heaviest, bulkiest part of an AR, so saving weight here means that your rifle will stay trim and handy.
Each Colt AR6720 Upper Receiver Group matches the specs offered in the company's AR672-0 rifle, which includes the pinned front-sight gas block and flattop upper receiver that allows for easy optics mounting. The barrel itself measures 16.1 inches long, is chambered in 5.56 NATO and has a twist rate of 1:7 inches, so even though it's lightweight, it can definitely handle the heavy stuff.
This Colt AR6720 Upper Receiver Group gives you a great starting point for a durable upper receiver, but it isn't complete. You'll still need to find the perfect charging handle, bolt-carrier group and rear sight to complete your dream rifle.
