The Vortex 10 x 42 Bino's are model DB-241. These have been discontinued for a long time. Not the model DB-205 or newest DB-215. NOT A DEAL. They are normally $169 on their site. NOT $229. Cabela's has major integrity issues. NOT saving $100.
Can’t read this on the app!!
SMGA had the no safety version of the P365 for $429 shipped the other day. I bought one. With my $10 FFL fee I have $439 in it.
Anyone notice the savage rifle on front page? The 75$ rebate expired in October?
Anyone know if that cabelas safe for 499$ any good?
All Cabela’s safes and cabinets (including the tin boxes) are rated as residential security containers, not safes, which means they can resist one man attacking them with a small pry bar and 3 pound hammer for 5 minutes. All Cabela’s firesafes also are filled with drywall which holds water from the air and will steam and destroy your guns in a fire. They keep honest people honest and look imposing to someone that doesn’t know what a good safe is. Anyone that wants your guns and has an hour or two can get them with ease even if anchored to concrete. We had a customer had his multiple Browning safes broken into and all his guns stolen in 3 hours. Depends on how much that kind of security is worth to you. -Former Gun Library Outfitter
Suggestions on a safe that provides the best security for the money?
Are you looking for full size home safes or for a couple pistols?
There are very few safes (compared the number available) that actually meet meaningful standards for resisting attacks (and "CA DOJ Approved" is not a meaningful standard)
American Security, Fort Knox and Stealth (AmSec makes some safes for the other two) are all generally high quality for their purpose. The vast majority of Chinese budget safes, aka the safes most people buy on Amazon etc, can be defeated with simple tricks and methods because there is no engineering in those products, just (poorly) copying and mangling old designs. As a general rule, if a safe is tech-y and cheap (biometric this and that) it is almost 100% garbage as far as actual physical security.
Thanks for the info; I'll look into the suggested companies. I'm looking for a home safe that will aid in protection against both potential criminals and fires.
Nice deal on the Sig P365 $399.99!
yeah, it's sadly for only the manual safety model and the only deal i saw. everything else was very, meh....
If you go look at the live version of the flyer on Cabela's website they changed the $399 P365 deal to the no-safety Two Tone version that they normally sell in store for $449, it's the model that comes with only 1 magazine. Some may be happy about that change, personally I'm pissed that they changed the ad after the fact as I wanted thumb safety and two mags. I stupidly bought some discounted Cabela's gift card in anticipation. Now I just have to hope they're doing a deal on both or they will at least honor their original ad. I should have known as the MS version is not even one they stock. Typical Cabela's, always dissappointing.
Almost all of their firearm Super Black Friday "deals" are prices higher than you can find right here every day of the week. Who runs that shit show.
Beware I was in BPS today and the two employees at the counter were talking about the black friday offer changing P365 models. I am going to hold off on buying discounted cards and ask for clarity this weekend when I take the kid to see Santa. I will report back what I find out.
At Bass Pro now and the signs are up stating it will be the two tone, w/o safety, white dot sights, and only one mag, which is normally priced at $450 at BPS. SKU 2794032
I see the picture changed, but it still says MS version.
The physical BF flyer I got in the mail today shows the all black gun with manual safety for $399 that normally sells for $499.
The front page with the rifle/scope combo in the bottom left that has the October rebate expiration date also had a printed-over correction with a December date.
I was just at Cabelas an hour ago. They have signs up at the gun counter stating that the ad is wrong and they are only doing the 2 tone version.
Well, that kills my excuse going to Cabela's on Friday morning.
Thanks for the heads-up.
The manual safety version is showing available on Cabelas.com.
Are you sure you were looking at the actual Black Friday ad on Cabela's website and not the PRE-BF ad? I don't see either on their mobile website at the moment.
I'm with you.. about to grab a bunch of discounted gift cards because the manual safety version is what I've been waiting on.
I bought the version without safety for $450, the guy at the store said it was a misprint but could give me $50 discount on the gun they originally had posted!! Maybe if you ask for a discount they will hook you up.
