Simply drop your steel plate in the wrap and put it back in your carrier. This design will mitigate any fragmentation from exiting a plate carrier in an upward trajectory that could otherwise be redirected towards your arms and neck. This wrap can be used on all 10” x 12” size steel plates up to ½” thickness, regardless of manufacture. The wrap will fit on flat, curved, Base Coat, or Build-Up Coat plates. Another benefit of this wrap is its particularly low weight at only 4 ounces. While a Build-Up Coat adds on roughly 10% of the plate's weight due to its density, this product is able to mitigate fragmentation with a hardly noticeable footprint.  This wrap can add protection to Base Coat plates that you may already have with you, enhance protection for Build-Up Coat plates, or service plates that have already been shot, ensuring their fragmentation mitigation capabilities are restored if compromised.   *The Frag Sleeve is designed to help mitigate bullet fragmentation. Although it provides some level of ballistic protection, it does not have a standalone threat level rating. The Trauma Pads are designed to be worn behind the armor plate. They are a simple way to reduce energy transfer to your body, mitigating bruising and backface deformation. - When a bullet strikes body armor, the energy from the impact is transferred to the armor. What happens to the armor depends on the type and material. Soft armor flexes and “catches” the bullet, whereas hard armor can either shatter the bullet (steel alloy), dissipate the force by breaking apart (ceramic), or capture the bullet by melting around it (polyethylene). All Armored Republic in standalone configurations perform very well in tests against back face deformation (BFD) and energy transfer and are designed with BFD in mind.  Helps dissipate energy transfer Each trauma pad is specially engineered to mitigate blunt force trauma in case your armor takes a round and reduces the amount of back face deformation that could occur, which can mitigate the risk of injury after impact.  Designed to be worn in conjunction with and behind your body armor, our Trauma Pads reduce the amount of energy transferred to your body, reducing felt energy through your armor. Compatible with body armor from AR500 Armor of Armored Republic and most other armor systems and plate carriers. Trauma pads are non-ballistic and offer no increase in ballistic protection.
