How utterly sad you can’t understand or comprehend being told multiple times this is my only account and not an alt. You don’t have to tell me about Va benefits because I am a DAV and don’t abuse them. Why would you say “account in the final death throes of fading way into insignificance” is someone going to snitch on me and get me banned? My opinion and just a hunch, 4Liberty got banned and maybe for going back and forth with you for the past months and if that’s the case wonders why haven’t you been banned? I’m done talking to you I don’t want a fair and just monitor to ban me. 8-)
Who is abusing the VA? I never said I was. Sounds like you might be projecting. FWIW, I earned my benefits and I hope you did as well.
"Death throes of fading way into insignificance" is because you've lost the wind from your sails not having your alter ego to gang up on others in a sad attempt to bully via a group. Funny how bullies rarely have to balls to stand on their own. Clearly you don't have the same guts to do so from a single user name...even anonymously via an online forum you've suddenly lost all of your pretend gusto and swagger trolling by yourself. Quite amazing to see the transformation. Perhaps a couple episodes of "Hee Haw" will re-energize you?
And how do you know the troll got "banned" if you aren't the same person???? They could be on another one of their "camping trips." LOL, thanks again for confirming you aren't different people ;)
But whatever, I'm done with this rant from 4crybaby 2.0. They can have the last word, clearly they need it.
P.S. Livinitup1976, see what I mean? You stirred up some crap that had been quite for 6 months. Perhaps running into a full, but silent room, screaming "EVERYBODY SHUT UP" isn't the best idea.....
Thank you for your service and I wish you all the best. The way this world is going I wonder if we will be called back.
To be fair no need to stir the pot. “ Perhaps Lead By Example “ P.S. (formally) enlisted Honorably Discharged will now ignore someone’s foolishness. Talk to the hand bye. 8-)
Oh look, the troll's alt account in the final death throes of fading way into insignificance....how utterly sad.
P.S. I never said I was "honorably discharged"....but I was though ;) Perhaps try it sometime, those VA benefits are freaking awesome.
I own these and yes the plates are pretty hefty plates I ordered the spalling cover to add over the plates also has a little Kevlar around the top 20% of the plate maybe. No padding up top is a little rough but when push comes to shove it will work really well. I am a smaller frame guy just really tall and it fits well but my first thought was how would this fit on a big dude. Overall killer value here. If you don’t have plates at all don’t overthink it these could work well. At least in my opinion.
How much EACH plates weigh? 9.5 pounds is the Total weight? Description is not clear.
Not sure why they list them at 9.5 pounds, when their level lll plates are listed at 8.5 pounds on their site. The difference must be the anti-spall base coat. You can check some youtube videos from Pew Pew Tactical or Mrgunsngear about "spall" not being much of a factor on their level lll plates.
Another thing to consider is a steel plate lasts a lot longer than polyethylene or ceramic alternatives because of the FragLock™ coating’s 20-year maintenance-free shelf life and are multi-hit rated. The trade off is once ceramic takes a hit large portions of that plate becomes compromised and will let your body be exposed to more hits.
Why don't you man childs go meet up somewhere like a dark alley and do your dick measuring there. The rest of us are surely tired of your immature nonsense and the grade school back and forth. It doesn't make either of you look or act like you served in the military. Get some discipline and try acting your ages... Please...
To be fair Livinitup1976, you aren't helping things by constantly stirring up 6 month old threads with your rants about "dick measuring."
The troll appears gone, just relish the silence like the rest of us are.
P.S. Us (formally) enlisted folks, especially Army and Marines, aren't known for our maturity when faced with annoyances. Not exactly off brand behavior ;)
Looks like the little troll boi can't make up his mind about a screen name, this is normal behavior for someone with a delusional disorder. That should now explain and confirm things for the normal people here.
Most of my usernames honor you and your "predidictable" nonsense, for example;
Surtr the Jötunn - A destroyer of trolls
Dr. Hoo - A Time Traveller (Dr Who didn't user "time zones" but phone booths).
"Missing Word Phrases" - ....no one knows WTF you were trying to say that day
Funny thing is you have been back an hour and already posted multiple troll rants yet zero gun related comments. All desperate cries for my attention. How "predidictable" that I am the only thing you could think about during your 10 day temp ban....err "fishing trip" and the first person you run back to when finally able to post again. #livingrentfreeinyourhead
Why would you try to "honor" a so called troll? Just more of your delusions. It seems fitting that you picked a mythological username that is lacking factual basis, I think it's your best fit so far.
You still can't post anything factual little girl. I posted twice that is not "multiple" and my replies were in response to other "zero gun related comments" so your desperation to make a point failed again.
There is no ban on a website that believes in free speech clown boi, that is just another part of your hope and change to desperately try to silence people that you don't agree with, more of your narcissistic behavior shinning through and a " poorly veiled excuse to show was a bridge dweller you are"
#ThisEasyJustIsn'tFun
Wow, copied and pasted that directly off the AR500 website didn't ya shill? Even with the "™" marks? Normal behavior from a completely unaffiliated user with no ties to the manufacturer...wink wink.
You forgot to mention the "base coat" and "build-up" of "FragLock" is NOT the same thing. The fRaGlOcK™ coat only mitigates spall at the proper thickness, which these plates DO NOT HAVE. The "base coat" is basically a single layer glorified paint to prevent rust. Does nothing for spall, frag, frak, whatever the marketing term of the week is.
"not being much of a factor on their level lll plates"....okay.
https://youtu.be/ofxd1sVD1k0?si=7VBlAhMA8U_cT0VP&t=763...
But yes, most LVL III ceramic is only rated for 5-6 direct hits of M80. So...your plates might not survive if you take a half dozen 7.62x51 shots to the chest. I doubt you'd survive that day regardless. Even if you were wearing AR500 plates (and they didn't fail) you'll likely lose your entire face and neck from the spall but at least your kids can still use the plates for range targets after burying your headless torso...win / win ;)
BTW, the "8.5 pounds" is PER PLATE....like I stated. The 5.5 lbs is only alloy style with a 'base coat' and not for the full size plate but the smaller (non-rectangular swimmer's cut). If you are going to shill, at least try to be accurate.
Look at how pathetic and stupid you are. I don't work for AR500 you clueless idiot. I didn't say this specific plate had FlagLock, as a matter of fact it states in the description base coat which protects the steel. There is a reason why ceramic plates are called one hit wonders, go ahead and put on a cheap ceramic plate and do some testing, I dare you... moron.
I didn't say the 8.5 pounds was incorrect you non-comprehending zilch, I said the 9.5 pounds was probably the weight of the plates with the base coat added, obviously they show "two" plates. Are you saying ceramic plates are not susceptible to fragmentation? Of course they are, and spalling another clueless point buy the uneducated. It sure is funny to have captain obvious come on here and do nothing but waste space
Okay shill. Clearly your lack of a DD214 and experience with legit body armor is showing almost as much as your profoundly damaged interpersonal skills. But like all mall ninjas you get all of your tAcTiCaL nonsense from reddit and youtube.
Love you broham ;)
Most true steel plates weigh 8+ lbs each, the carrier will likely run 1 to 1-1/2lbs itself so 18-ish pounds total.
Now, AR500 does sell an "alloy" steel plates which they claim is 5.5 lbs EACH but this doesn't appear to be those. That would still likely weigh 12-13 lbs for the entire setup.
Also know that the "spall base coat" is just a layer of Rhino liner and will NOT stop spall. You need about 1/4" plus to mitigate any spall.....which comes at a $ cost.
I'd suggest buying budget ceramic over budget steel. The first time you wear steel plates for 5 minutes you'll understand why using glorfided AR500 targets is a horrible idea just from a weight standpoint alone....spall going into your neck, sinking like a rock in water, etc are some other things to think about ;)
