Armored Republic's Freeman is a unique carrier for its small size- made especially for the included Octagonal 9x9 plates, it covers your vitals while being easy to transport and easy to wear. Carry your armor throughout the day, or keep it in your car or backpack and get it out when you need it. Either way, this armor’s minimalist approach makes it a setup no one should have trouble using. The carrier’s material consists of a Cordura® front and a 500D Nylon Cordura back. Also, using the laser-cut PALS system, it is capable of accommodating up to 3 magazine pouches. Thin but durable and comfortable Hypalon® straps contribute to its low profile. The accompanying four 9x9 Octagonal Level III Steel Plates (two for each Freeman carrier) are rifle-stopping, multi-hit capable plates which minimize backface deformation. Also, these plates come already upgraded to our multi-curve design, for a more comfortable, ergonomic fit. The included two pairs of Trauma Pads help mitigate blunt impact and prevent backface deformation, one placed right behind each steel plate. Independent tests on our armor have been conducted in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 recommendations through H.P. White Laboratories and Oregon Ballistics (OBL). This Level III armor is perfectly capable of stopping pistol and rifle rounds, tested to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS, and special threat tested to stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS.
