Thanks OP - this is a fantastic deal! Got mine ordered yesterday. It's important to note this is a "cash" price so if you want to use your credit card you'll be looking at an additional 3%.

So heres a question for gunland:

Other than the barrel profile and the "gas tube" (i.e. piston) length, is there any different between the carbine and the mid length?

I would have thought the carbine would have a shorter barrel - does the M4 the army uses normally have a shorter barrel? (I.E. the carbine normally has a shorter barrel but since this is civilian it gets the 16" barrel)

Truth be told, I also just like the look of the government profile barrel more than the M4 profile.

Both are 16" barrels. Gas port is just in different locations. Ive always read that mid-length is less harsh on the BCG.

Yes both barrels are 16". You will benefit with the mid length with a longer sight radius, increased hand guard real estate length for support (ergonomically better), and a longer gas port as Rangerscott mentions.

That's pretty much what I figured, I guess in theory one could swap out that carbine barrel for a 14.5" barrel (or shorter) with a long flash hider or something along those lines to feel like an Ultimate Operator (TM)

I got their 5.45x39 carbine upper. Shoots fine. Wish they would have had the mid-length version out then.

So it's a melonite coated barrel?

According to the Adams Arms website: Barrel Finish: QPQ Melonite / Black Nitride

I settled to "pay now" for a "reserved" carbine handguard version, same price. 10% hit, if order is cancelled within 90 days. Really really great deal. How could anyone pass this up if you are in the market for an AR?

This is a killer deal. The one I own came looking just like this one but was all mil-spec. I put around 1200 steel cased tulammo and Herters ammo through it without cleaning or lubing. To my surprise it ate everything and not a hick up. The only lube it had on it was from the factory. I went out 4 times, each time putting about 300 rounds. Mind you, I am an AK guy. So I was waiting for it to fail around 500 rounds but it didnt. Effing thing just kept going. I still prefer an AK to AR. But this experience had definitely changed my mind about ARs, well at least the gas piston ones.

I'm in for one. How can you say "no" at that price? If I don't like it I can always sell it later.

Was going to pick up a AA piston upper at some point, but this price point is worth just getting the blem rifle. In for one.

Second deal I have found thanks to Slick Guns I jumped on the second I saw it.

Piston system for $599? This is an amazing deal and a great piston rifle to upgrade...

Great job on linking this deal, hope everyone gets their hands on it while it lasts!

They may list for $1300.00 but you can buy them new unblemished for $769.00 at Grabagun.

Still at $599 I am in for one. I was in the market for another AR and wanted a flattop...was going to buy the DPMS for $499 after mail in rebate that is advertised here. But I think this is a much better deal.

Barrel in not chromed lined so I will not buy this.

Yes Melonited barrel is better than chrome lined.

You just passed on a heck of a deal. If you bought this rifle, along with an aftermarket chrome lined barrel, you would still save a considerable chunk of change over a different piston AR that came with a chrome lined barrel.

Not chrome lined, but it is melonited.

Everyone should jump on this deal.. I own an Adams Arms carbine length upper and I love it. The thing doesn't get dirty! Absolutely fantastic product and their warranty and service is very good. If you're looking for an AR or a piston AR, this is the one.

This is a stupid good deal. I wasn't even in the market for an AR this morning and when I saw this I couldn't believe it.

I'm in for one.

Anyone know how bad the blemishes are? Seems like $700 or so off might mean they are in pretty rough shape, at least cosmetically.

From this video, they must be in great shape!
