Rest assured they are coming back this spring with a lower price point of $699. FIME will be the importer. Folders will be available. Watch this video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyYF2yeM2Ik&feature=youtu.be&t=169...

VEPRs (I.e., Molot) was not a part of the holding co., that were part of the ban on Saiga's, etc. That and read carefully, these Vep12's do not have all the goodies that the vep12 folders had, thus why the price drop.....well not a price drop on these (the non folders) as they have been this price for over 6 months with incentives like free Wolf buckshot, and now the free magic gimic. I do however love my vep12 folder almost as much as I love my saiga12. Word is the vep12 folders will never be imported by Molot again. I wish I would have bought two vep12's a few years back, hindsight is a bitch.

So i'm new to these and after reading your review i'm wondering besides the folding stock, what are some of the other things/goodies that this particular gun dont come with that the other one you refer to did?

Yea Winchester universal is junk. The federal birdshot runs like a top in my gun.

I agree with you 100% up until the point you say the Vepr 12 is finicky. Most vepr 12 owners including myself find it runs ammo 3 dram eq and up great. And yes you are correct there are some easy mods to preform that are on the fourm to increase reliability.

Finicky was probably a poor choice of word. The point is that many (if not most) VEPR12s are not as reliable with weak loads. To put it in perspective, I have shot hundreds of rounds through my fixed stock VEPR12, which definitely does *not* like light loads, and I doubt I will ever do anything to "fix" the issue. It's for home defense and fun shooting, not for shooting rats. I only run 00 buck or slugs through it and ran a box of birdshot through it just for testing.

I mention the issue because the VEPR12 is such a spectacular gun that it is a real shame when someone buys one, loads some weak loads they got from WalMart into it, gets failures to eject, and is seriously disappointed.

I did my research before buying and knew about it beforehand and did some tests to see how low I could go. With the right ammo, this gun is a blaster!

I love my VEPR12s (have 2--one is the original fixed stock and one with the welded folding stock). I prefer the original but regardless, the VEPR12 is my absolute favorite gun to shoot and this is indeed a sweet deal. BTW, anyone considering getting a VEPR12 needs to know about Carolina Shooters Supply and vepr.org.

CSS is a great source for aftermarket parts for the VEPR12 and the VEPR12 forum on vepr.org is an amazing source of info on this gun--especially regarding loads that will cycle well and 922(r) compliance.

Be aware that many, if not most VEPR12s are a bit finicky on ammo. They don't like weak loads, *but* there are a couple of guys on the VEPR12 forum that have figured out how to get the gun to cycle well with light loads and also what to look for on labels when you buy ammo. Don't let the ammo thing scare you, though. This is a GREAT gun!

Also, for those who are not familiar with Atlantic, they are good to go.

[I have no affiliation with Atlantic or CSS other than being a satisfied customer]
