The Snake Guns made by Colt are legendary in the revolver community. The seven deadly serpents in this family of revolvers are the Python, Diamondback, Cobra, Anaconda, King Cobra, Boa, and Viper. Whether you like revolvers or not, those seven models represent everything fantastic about them. Colt decided to introduce a series of snake-themed revolvers in 1950, with the Cobra model. The Colt Python, introduced in 1955, was the second snake pistol in the series and has gained the biggest public attention. The Colt Diamondback was third in Colt's snake gun lineup. The fourth model in the series, the Colt Viper, was added to the lineup in 1977, but only had one year of production. The Colt Boa, another difficult-to-find revolver, was the fifth snake gun in the series, launched in 1985. The Colt King Cobra was introduced in 1986, one year after the Boa. The Colt Anaconda joined the serpent line as the last model, debuting in 1990. Considering their popularity, it's not unexpected that Colt has recently started releasing modern versions of the Cobra, King Cobra, Python, and Anaconda.
