The USP Tactical (9mm Parabellum,.40 S&W,.45 ACP) has a match quality trigger with an adjustable trigger stop, an extended, threaded barrel with an O-ring, and sights that can be adjusted for suppressor height. The USP Tactical uses a Browning-style short-recoil mechanism, where the barrel is cammed downward to unlock from the recoiling slide. It is made with a molded polymer receiver and a slide made of machined steel. There was no USP Tactical variant in 9mm until 2015. Alternatively, HK sold the standard USP9 variation as the USP9SD model, which included a longer, threaded barrel and suppressor height sights. The USP Tactical characteristics are similar to those of the Mark 23 but it's more compact and lighter. The barrel of the USP Tactical is left-hand threaded (counter-clockwise), which distinguishes it from other handguns, but prevents it from using the suppressors made for the MK23 Mod 0.
