The CZ 457 is a refined American-style rimfire rifle featuring a 24.8" barrel with no iron sights, designed to be equipped with a scope. Its Turkish walnut stock is crafted with a high, flat comb and classic checkering, contributing to both its aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. The rifle’s receiver is milled with an 11mm dovetail, making it easy to attach scope ring mounts. Significant improvements over previous models include the incorporation of an American-style push-to-fire safety, a feature requested by Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches. Additionally, the action has been shortened by nearly an inch, and the 457 now features a slab-sided design to reduce weight and footprint. The old stamped bottom metal has been replaced with a more elegant two-piece interlocking system. A switch to a 60° bolt rotation allows for better scope clearance with larger ocular bell diameters, and the rifle now includes an adjustable trigger, fine-tuned for weight, creep, and over-travel. Retaining the swappable barrel system and reliable polymer magazine of the 455, the CZ 457 stands out as a superior and versatile rimfire platform.
