The IWI Galil ACE series modernizes the IDF's original domestic service rifle, which was developed by IMI in the late 1960s. Inspired by the Russian AK-47 and Finnish Valmet RK 62, the Galil ACE updates the original Galil design to meet contemporary international standards with features like optics and accessory Picatinny rails, improved controls, and compatibility with NATO and com-bloc calibers. The Galil ACE is produced under license in four countries and has been upgraded to the ACE Gen II in the US, featuring a free-floated barrel, M-LOK handguard, and further control enhancements. Notable features of the Galil ACE include a Picatinny quad rail handguard with rail covers, left and right side safety selector controls, folding and length-of-pull adjustable stocks, adjustable iron sights with night sight inserts, and a full-length optics rail. These updates and the rifle’s battle-proven reliability under adverse conditions ensure its competitiveness against global service rifle offerings.
