I'd say this stuff is similar to the effect of the glow sights on a VP9
Ive had this on my Ruger LC9S for at least 4 years. Minimal amount needed. Clear polish on top to keep it "glued" in
I have a small black light key chain that "charges" it significantly better than normal white light
Cons: doesn't glow bright for more than 10ish minutes
