I owned 2 VEPRS in 7.62x54R. One had 23.2" and another 27" barrel (I think it was 27). They were two of the most inaccurate rifles I have ever owned. 23.2" barrel one was easy 4 inches at 100 yards with any ammo I tried. I used Yugo M77 in 7.97x57mm in combat situations many years ago. Best ever with Yugo sniper ammo was 3 inch at 100 yards. I used PSL 7.62x54R in the same war. Best on a good day 4 inches at 100 yards. Those were used military rifles but did not have much rounds through them. All ammo used was either Yugo sniper ammo or Romanian sniper ammo For comparison here in USA I can hold 6 inch at 600 yards (no wind) up to 9 inches (10 mph wind) with 20 inch AR15 and IMI razor core 77gr 5.56x45. Using Savage 10 FCP-SR with Gold medal match at 600 yards I can hold sub 6 inch easy. I don't understand why would anybody in USA buy those Russian garbage rods when for $500 savage 10 FCP-SR will run circles around any VEPR at any distance. I own bunch of firearms. After experiencing AKs and AK variants in real life war scenarios I REFUSE to buy any AK or its variant. They are heavy, inaccurate, ergonomics sucks big time and if not maintained properly they do break down and have failures to fire. Experienced that quite a few times in real life. I guess for people in USA it is some kind of mystique that attracts them to those weapons.
+1. There are a lot of established upstanding shops that have been around for awhile with good to stellar reputations. To me the more gun shops that make it online the better for the community and the consumer. But with all the competition comes high expectations and it does not take much for companies to be left behind because of things that are occurring in the reviews being left for this company.
Reviews are how we know and judge companies we are going to give business/money to. Myself and others have had really bad experiences with this company lately. People have a right to know what they may be getting into especially with so many other choices out there.
Hopefully this company quickly rectifies the situations that created all the bad reviews. In a thread I started on a firearms forum I am a member of another member just posted that they ordered an optic from Lockedandloaded 3 weeks ago and have not heard a word from the company since. With all the competition out there that does not hold up in today's world. Hopefully the bad reviews quickly push them into fixing whatever is wrong before their reputation is unsalvageable.
