The Vortex® Spitfire® 3x Prism Scope is a great compromise between a traditional scope sight and a reflex sight for shooters who want magnification for precise shot placement at longer ranges, and rapid sight and target acquisition at close range. The Spitfire Prism Scope uses a reticle that's etched directly to the prism that can be used with or without illumination. Illumination color is selectable from green to red and it has 5 brightness levels. Multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces increase light transmission for positive target ID. The single-piece chassis is O-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance. The Vortex Spitfire 3x Prism Scope comes mounted at a lower 1/3 co-witness height of 40.4mm from the optic center to base surface. If a lower 30mm mounted height is desired the mount riser can be removed.

For 60 less than a PA 3x acss, this is a good deal. I own both, and just ordered another spitfire 3x. I think vortex’s glass is more clear with a slight less field of view. My eyes are terrible and with/without glasses the cross hair reticles just work with my astigmatism. If it wasn’t for my terrible astigmatism I’d favor the ACSS reticle.
Thoughts on this vs Primary Arms 3x prism for $40 more?
The Vortex 3x BDC tracks and works just as well as primary arms acss however the acss offers more tracking ability on a moving target. It’ll comes down to users preference, chevron or cross hair BDC.
Nothing against vortex as I've owned their scopes as well, but I like primary arms reticles so much better. Both have exceptionally clear glass for the money, but the practicality of PA reticlesis far more useful

No brainer on this one. Good deal, thank you.
