Blew out both lenses in 3 rounds on a 12 gauge AR style shotgun. Definitely not for any high caliber, high recoil firearms. May be ok for small caliber or rim fire rifles. Maybe and just maybe ok for a .223 but I wouldn't use it on a self defense weapon strictly for range use.
Just my opinion but unless you absolutely cannot afford anything better this a optic i would say only belongs on rimfire or range guns ONLY. Not a primary go to rifle. Just my 2cents
