For the 'Murica Turkish firearms are POS nationalists: the STR-9 is made in Turkey and imported by Stoeger/Beretta.

"STR-9 pistols are made in Turkey and imported by Stoeger. Much like shotguns manufactured in that country, these pistols rival many similar designs costing more money. The recoil-operated design is similar in function to other striker-fired, polymer-frame pistols stemming from the expired Glock patent." - Guns&Ammo May 28, 2021.

For the record I've got a number of Turkish (and Brasilian) firearms that were great deals, perform quite well, and am quite happy with. The Turks are as gun crazy as an American redneck: over 32 million firearms for a population of only 86 million. One in three households owns guns - and that's just the registered ones.

12/28/21: Those numbers are rookie numbers 37% When the Ottoman's get to 500-600 million like the United States

I see no problem with the math, 32 million is less than 86 million. Considering a person can effectively carry and use a shotgun, rifle, and a pistol I would wonder when the number reaches 258 million firearms for 86 million people. Although, I bet that would be the most secure country in the world.

12/28/21: I bet a lot of those are surplus from the days of the Ottoman Empire. The Turks are making good guns these days for a fair price

12/1/21: $239.99 at KYGUNCO not a bad price. My concern lies in the lack of readily available magazines. I've got other guns I'm looking for magazines for. If the price were to drop....

You can 3D print magazines for this.

The problem with this firearm is that you could not find any extra magazine for it. You stuck with one mag. Even for 50.00/magazine, you cannot find extra mags anywhere.

4 months later (11/27/2021) things have changed. Quick Google search turns up several in stock offers for around $36.

Nothing ever changes, I'm still reading to see if anyone has actually bought and ran this pistol instead on pointless remarks.
Just might be a decent purchase like glocks turned out to be starting out back in the 80's. if not 280 total for me with fll isn't hard to spend.
solutions & answers here not pointless debates.

Yes, I bought this deal and ran it last night while doing paperwork on it. 300 rounds without a hiccup using S&B ammo. The grip is like a Walther P99-ish. It's the size of a G19. The slide has decent serrations for racking and looks kinda like a modified P320 slide. Overall, super happy with my purchase.

Your best bet is YouTube, I just watched a couple reviews, seems to be a good gun for the price.

Looks more like a SW SDV9mm than a Glock copy imo... Anyone have first hand experience firing/handling one of these?

SD9VE my bad, my pops had one so I'm going on memory. Lol

does any other magazines fit this? it looks like a glock derivative, but if it doesn't take glock mags that's gonna spoil it a bit.

I think they use their own proprietary mags.

Yuk, laser-etched logo that reminds me of almost all Taurus semi-autos.

Glock, Beretta, Walther, Sig Sauer, Kimber, HK, CZ and Wilson are some of the other companies that also have laser-etched names, logos and/or designs on guns they produce. If you could buy a Glock, Sig Sauer, Kimber, HK or CZ for $238 that had a laser-etched logo, would you turn it down?

Safeties are meant to prevent accidents and if you think that 1 second of flipping the safety will save you life then get a new career and new friends. Also trigger safeties are really not safeties at all and guess what type of guns are involved most in friendly fire accidents???

I have an opinion, and if you don't agree with my opinion then you're an idiot..... lol.. Definition of an asshole.

First you go on a diatribe about the importance of a safety and proceed to say a safety is not a safety. Revolvers don't have safeties why does the 92fs need one? What is the functional difference for the justification of a safety? There is none. Revolvers were carried fine for decades without them.... And they are still carried to this day with out them. Single action only guns are the only ones that require a safety. Springfield makes a gun with training wheels if you need one.

Ps friendly fire is totally different from a negligent discharge. Instead of being a safety nazi go train with your safe queens with safeties and learn the difference

Typical response from those who will never understand the concept of safety mechanisms as they are always relying on the safety between their ears which is typically as faulty as their logic!

I could have sworn you said that the SAFETY was not a safety? Explain what a safety mechanism is and how trigger blades don't meet the standard Gaston Stoner Browning.

Someone asked about the APX magazines fitting this. They have a different base shape.

Anyone know if the APX or any other Beretta magazines fit this handgun. Thanks.

This looks like it has a lot of potential. If it's at all like the Beretta APX I'll probably end up with one.

Code “welcome20” gets $20 off , shipping to tx was 9.99, total was $267.** from impact guns after code , all the 3 mag models are b/o’d everywhere

Looks nice. No safety or hinged trigger. Already ahead of most guns.

I'm not buying anything that comes with one mag. The companies that are getting it right multiple mags and then rebates for more mags. People should start demanding that we get multiple magazines... Come on companies it's not that difficult especially for Stoeger who's trying to get in the pistol Market step up and throw two more mags in there and then you may sell some pistols not just shotguns

You know there are two models right? The MSRP is like $50 more for the one with 3 mags and multiple palmswells. Your rant was good except Stoeger already is listening. I could do with out the palmswells if after market makers

2 votes
0 votes

Actually the MSRP is $60 higher which basically means $30 per mag for the 3 mag package version of this pistol.

https://www.stoegerindustries.com/str-9-semi-auto-pistol

Also, most of the listings for the 3 mag version with UPC 037084317212 is more than $50 on the websites listing them. Most list the 3 mag version at $350 right now compared to the $270ish the 1 mag version can be purchased for right now. That is a $80 difference. Currently as of my post the 3 mag version isn't in stock anywhere either so the cost is moot.

I will say the magazines for the STR-9 look the same from pictures as the ones for the Beretta APX which the gun seems to be a clone of. I am not sure if the magazines are interchangeable, but if they are, then the Beretta mags go for about $30 a pop right now. Although speculation is that the magazines are closer to Walther PPQ magazines. There isn't any place to buy STR-9 mags though except with the gun.

Exactly. And for the least expensive model, you don't even get the additional back straps. You only get the one that comes with it. You can buy the other two as options. Forget that!

Right off the bat the polymer receiver looks like the internals are like the Glock. And it figures last night I bought the Sig P320 although this is so low priced I might have to get one anyway!

Nobody should be buying crazy guns these days. It's retarded move especially guns like this should not cost more than $100 to manufacture one. $270 is simply over priced. $200 with one mag sound reasonable!
