i was reading the reviews and they say if the safe has the paper clip defect they will send replacement mechanism.
1) Cut hole in drywall.
2) Insert/secure safe between studs, frame.
3) Cover with mirror, fine artwork, or tin beer sign.
4) Stuff with costume jewelery, airsoft guns.
5) Win.
Stack-on will send you a replacement lock if you have the paperclip problem.. Contact them. Hopefully the future models will not have the paperclip issue.
My 10 year old can open this with a paper clip in about 4 seconds.

I relied on the reviews and it seemed like a good product to purchase. I have had it for almost year and worked just fine, then today I read on Wired that it is vulnerable to a paperclip. From what the wired article had shown a wide variety of their safes are vulnerable.
I checked with a paperclip and it opened right away. The hardest part was getting the plastic facade away from the key hole as you can see with my video.
Had this safe for a while now. My main use was to keep my 2 young daughters from getting to my pistols. For that purpose it works just fine. I would not feel so secure once they get older however, nor would I expect this to deter any criminal with any kind of skill set. I am not accustomed to picking locks but the key portion of this device can easily be picked with a paper clip. I was able to do this on my second try and on all subsequent tries. It takes about 5 seconds. I was very disappointed. For my use it is fine for now. I need to consider another solution going forward though.
Easy solution - cement the lock and only use the keypad - itll tell you when batteries are low. The only other issue is the rear holes which is alleviated when mounted. Btw, I own this safe as well, and I did not have success in pick locking it as did some of the Amazon reviewers. I still plugged the lock to be safe.
Have had about one month. Very solid. Need to add extra pads if move around alot , only has small loose pad in bottom. Otherwise very good.
Agree with the padding. Easy fix though using your material of choice.

wow this deal keeps getting lower and lower....! i have this safe and I highly recommend it. i like how you can choose to mute it when you press the numbers so i can access the safe without alerting anyone.
Excellent deal, nice quality drawer safe. Very sturdy and well made, not flimsy sheet metal at all. Heavier than expected which is good in my book. Very impressed for the 50 bucks it took it to get it to my house. I now can keep my HD pistol right next to me without worry, enter in my 4 digit code and I have a loaded pistol at the ready......way better than keeping it under the pillow/mattress.
You would think by now all the old faulty "safes" would have been purged or recalled, right? Think again. Feb 2016 video, all the people claim it's GREAT must feel rather silly now.
