Yea, for $399 it can't be beat. I priced shopped around, checked reddit and for SOLGW I couldn't find anything cheaper for a built upper (no BCG ECT).
Brownells had a good deal on a DD MK18 upper receiver but I snoozed on it.
There's also that deal for the DDM4v7 with 18" barrel in brown for $1299. That's also an excellent deal if you need a complete rifle. I'm build 3 rifles now so this SOLGW just made sense.
This is an extremely good deal. I went to their website and added the parts up, some which are currently on sale and it was over $500 not including S/H and taxes. You’d still have to assemble everything.
$399 for a factory built SOLGW upper is a steal. It just needs the BCG, CH and muzzle device.
They've been doing several of these "market test" drops. Same (or similar) piece of kit + varying price points. They're trying to determine where the market now values them. I saw cheaper last week, but this is likely as good as it gets atm. I like SOLGW, had one, but they were having internal staffing uh..."issues" when I went to replace and I DDM4v7 upper just seemed too good at the same price point. Don't let that deter you though, just best option at the right time and this is def a good option for now and in the near future.
