What is the scoop on the CSX? A year ago, couldn’t find it by itself for below $550. Now you can get it for this price in a kit deal?!? Is S&W just not moving any? Very tempted to try this…unless there’s a nagging issue dragging the price down.
I think it's timing as well as reviews. It was introduced Jan. 2022, so actually the production, availability, and deals are normal considering what was going on at the time. These are more complex than a simple compact striker like the Shield Plus, so I recommend handling this and operating the mag release, thumb safety, trigger press and reset to see if you like it before jumping on a deal...those features operate and feel quite differently to someone only experienced with strikers, and the reviews indicate this. If your weapon history included 1911's you will probably accept this. In my experience the trigger action operates differently from a 1911 or a striker, and the thumb safety has less feedback from a 1911, both features inherent in this design. This platform can be ammo sensitive as well but you will find several loads it likes. This is well made, the alloy frame and action are smooth, but S&W has a good warranty if you have a problem.
yes the big issue is the false reset on this trigger, results in just slapping the trigger and being wildly inaccurate, and personally the grip is too slippery and cant even stipple it because its metal and the gun is too chunky compared to the sig offering. also the severe lack of aftermarket and holsters and accessories for this.
