Purchased these, 2 pack in black. They’re too small. Wanted something to maintain the shape while in the bag. On SG3 it is loose with significant gaps on all sides, top, bottom and sides.
Makes me think of cheap imports from a 3D print farm, not from a company who understands firearm accessories. If you are looking for a storage area, maybe. Something to maintain the shape of your SBA3 brace, NOPE!
Better options available.
I'm not turning my brace into a degenerate with a butt plug.
The atf has ruled time and time again that modifying a brace, particularly in regards to surface area or reducing/eliminating the ability to be used as a brace is conversion to a stock. This plug would be 100% legal when installed in the brace and the brace is NOT installed on the gun. If this is installed on a brace on a gun you have effectively made a stock and could be subject to legal proceedings as a prize. I'm not saying do or don't buy this, but if you do, make sure you have plenty of money for the lawyers.
Ahh the old fed watch system!! Could you imagine going to prison over this tiny piece of plastic?..
It’s happened. Guy in Texas, dispatcher for the local SD with plans to become a pilot got turned into the ATF by some lowlife who needed to “give them something” to get out of his own problems.
If you alter your brace in any way, you could be liable for violating the law. Even removing the velcro strap will get you in trouble. With this item in your brace just sitting on your shelf could be a concern in some states. Buyer beware.
Do we have lawyers on here? I need a legal advice, because I did look at this item. Will one turn his/her pistol into an SBR by shooting the rifle with his insert in it? Just curious :-)
It doesn’t matter what the law is - what matters is how it’s applied. Sometimes all it takes is trying to apply it ruins your life.
You could have a pistol and a stock separate but in the same person’s possession and law enforcement could make your life difficult, regardless of how a jury or judge would see it.
The history of how the atf has viewed braces I would expect if they encountered one of these devices inserted into the brace of a pistol they would interpret that as having been converted into an SBR.
This is a dumb thing to buy, I have braces from the first weeks they were made that are holding their shape.
Buy a better brace if you have one that doesn’t hold its shape, not this thing.
These are for storing your braced pistol without deforming the brace (and work great for that purpose because some of the rubberish braces do deform with long term weight against them).....however if you happen to forget to remove the storage plug when you are defending your home...oops? But legally, I do think it would make the pistol stop being a pistol if used when shooting (who knows what it would become...legally...and according to the ATF classification of the week). That being said, I'm no abadago....
FWIW, I have a bunch of these in different styles for different braces, just like the product posted, all of mine are personally 3D printed. 30 cents vs $10. Even a $100 Ender 3 can pump these out in an hour-ish. But if you don't want to get into 3D printing, buying premade isn't bad either.

Outside of stationary shooting, I've used my sba3 for a handful of action carbine classes, and it's been plenty comfy shouldered for about 1200 or so rounds in the classes. So I just don't see the point of buying one of these, especially if there are legality concerns.
Was contemplating SBR'ing a lower, but then it isn't something that can live a bit in the car since it becomes a rifle and not covered under a concealed carry. If I'd have to swap stocks all the time to do x, y&z then what's the point? Keep the brace, keep it a pistol and no worries.
