FEATURES:
The SAR9 is one of the most thoroughly tested pistols available, endurance-proven by 150,000 rounds of live fire during factory validation. Built on a polymer frame paired with a forged-steel slide and barrel, the striker-fired platform balances durability with a friendly shooting experience: a 20-degree grip angle and three interchangeable backstraps tailor ergonomics to individual hands for natural pointability and confident control.
Several configurations offer pre-drilled mounting provisions for micro reflex sights, and the slide geometry includes user-friendly serrations for secure manipulation under stress. Passive and mechanical safeties include an integrated trigger safety, a manual thumb safety for preference-driven carry, and a striker status indicator for visual and tactile confirmation of striker condition. An accessory Picatinny rail adds mission flexibility for lights and lasers. The SAR9 blends rigorous reliability testing, adaptable ergonomics, and practical features into a compact platform suited for carry, duty, or defensive use.
**This pistol features a direct RMS-C optics cut for mounting RMS-C-compatible sights and does not include or require any separate base or mounting plate.

  • Another excellent pistol from SAR USA! I have the B6C and CM9 that I bought months ago from PSA, and I wanted the SAR9 for weeks because both of the other 2 shot so accurately and reliably. I have never shot steel case ammo but figured I would try it to see how well the SAR9 would handle it right out of the box. 50 rounds was no problem whatsoever for it, and with 2 17 shot magazines, a small brush kit, optic plate, extra back straps and decals, this pistol is an excellent value! Went in today to do the transfer on everything I had come in and there were 5 other SAR9s from PSA sitting on the rack. Mine was the only SS model of the bunch. Guessing PSA unloaded a bunch of these if that many were at just my LGS. Felt great in the hand. It'll be few weeks until I can get out to try it out. Of everything I got so far, this and the Jawbone feel like great deals at the price they were. The other stuff will need a full shake down to get a feel for them better.

Every time this comes up I want to buy one, but then I go to PSA and see the SS version for $20 more or the full kit with light and holster and 19rd mag and I keep circling on what to buy. Prefer to buy SS, but for this gun I know I should go for the basic, awesome deal and not care so much. If I hadn't of just bought two carbines I'd take both. Bought my wife a Pink/SS B6C years ago and it has been fantastic. One of the best 9mm guns on the market. Oh the torment this deal brings. Edit: bought the SS for $199 deal.

Just get this or the SS version of this. Do not buy the "package" deal. As an excellent pistol these are, the provided factory holster and pistol light are less than desirable and cheap feeling. Save the money and buy yourself a much better holster and pistol light. Also if you don't already have one, one of the most important and overlooked piece of kit is the gun belt itself. Invest in a good, thick, solid 1.5" to 2" wide belt and you will be surprised at how comfortable your pistol will be. Yes I'm sure that there are plenty of you all that may say this is a "duh" statement but I've seen so many people, experienced and inexperienced shooters show up to my classes not wearing a proper gun belt.

Sarsilmaz has a Level III retention holster with an optic guard and also accommodates the Powertac mark mini luminator with promises to have options for other lights soon. Pretty pricey right now but maybe the tariff tax will be gone by Black Friday. https://sarusa.com/product/sar9-radar-level-iii-retention-holster-rh/...

I bought PSA's last OD Green SAR9CX Package and I am not SAR-ee, really pleased, haven't been this pleased since I got my FDE Tisas PX-9 Gen3, another 4" duty gun from Turkey, you might say kissing cousins as the really small IWB holster Tisas provided fits the SAR9 without the light and the SAR holster fits both guns with or without the light installed. My Stoeger STR9c fits the SAR holster too so its been a great addition to my collection of 9mm Turks where one of the biggest drawbacks is finding a holster you like.

I've got American made guns too but have never been less than 100% pleased with the quality and dependability of Turkish pistols that includes a couple of Girsan's and a Canik too. Given my EDC is a Stoeger STR9MC, you could say I am betting my life on it.

This deal gets listed at $199 but often goes down to $179…. And back. Just a heads-up.

This is absolutely the best value in a striker fired polymer pistol. Shoots great with irons or with an optic. The newer version with the red tab flat aluminum trigger is amazing. I have personally shot more than a thousand rounds through my 3 SAR9s and never had an issue with reliability. At this price it blows everything else out of the water. Shoots relatively soft and eats any ammo you like. Buy them before the word gets out and the prices jump.

SAR is the largest pistol manufacturer in the world I heard. Seeing this price, quality and value, I understand it's all well deserved.

I heard that internet claims are often 99.9% false.

Like yours. SAR imports guns from other manufacturers. They aren't even in the top 10! ▔\▁((.′◔_′◔.))▁/▔

Some Gunomics to ponder here, bought one back in 21 when they were 249 (-30 mir), if I buy another today at 179 I'll average at 199 per gun..

SAR pistols are easily best bang for the buck. Only 180 bucks for a military grade reliable and overtested duty pistol? I own 7 SARs already - can't be happier.

Has anyone ever got good deals on mags for this? I hesitate stepping into another ecosystem that is expensive on the backside.

What do you intend to use the pistol for? Mine just stays in my car and occasionally gets taken to the range. Neither of my use cases needs more than the two mags it comes with.

I have a couple of SAR pistols. I had a SAR9 about 3 years ago. It was an excellent pistol. Ergos and function were great. Very accurate. Never an FTE, FTF, stovepipe, or anything.

The best way to describe this pistol would be to say that an H&K VP9 and a Glock 17 had a baby.

I would not hesitate in getting another one. And at this price, you'll always get your money back. I did and then some.

Ahhh Christmas time…. When I am tempted by deals of highly praised products I don’t even need. I already have 3 poly striker fired nines and this is still tempting. I wonder if I am more attracted to the deal or curious about the pistol.

Yeah it is a bit janky but the good thing is that the newer gen 3 versions have an actual, milled out slide. So luckily they listened to their customers and fixed the biggest and honestly in my opinion the ONLY problem with the original version like this one. For what you get for under $200, I certainly cannot complain too much...

Smoking deal at that price . We're talking hi point prices for a legitimate functional hand gun .

Yes not just a "legitimate functional gun" but a very good, well built, comfortable shooting and accurate pistol! These are amazing guns for so little money. Everyone knows my love for the SAR line of pistols. I have a TON of experience shooting them.

Nice but I am done with polymer. Buy solid metal guns from here on out. Better investments. Guess that’s what happens when you already built 100s of poly 80s. I told everyone to buy early and often!…and yes gov HUNDREDS. lol

Seriously though if you need a gun great deal. Otherwise buy something METAL.

    1 vote
    2 votes

I think you have a point for yourself. Yes metal guns most of the time are worth more but also costs more. Polymer framed handguns are almost always much more affordable and since Turkey started turning out great pistols like these, it allows just about anyone who can legally own a gun, to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones. So I am all for the flooding of the gun market with polymer framed handguns. The more people we can arm, the better off we will be as gun owners and the 2nd amendment secure

Shit the price keeps dropping on these. At $189 it's worth buying a couple of the great pistols. Seriously anyone who has seen my comments over the past several months, all know my love for these guns. They're great, accurate, reliable and comfortable for all hands.

I have one of these and IMHO this pistol performs way above its price point. If you are any good with a dremel you can modify SIG P320 mags to fit and function flawlessly in this weapon by cutting a new mag catch and trimming the sides of the base plate. I modified 5 LEO surplus P320 mags I picked up at 9.95 each and use I them at the range.

It feels seems dirty to mount an optic on top of the slide...not recessed in it. Even on a $200 beater.

FWIW, these always looked like a lot of pistol for the money but the $30+ per extra mag has always steered me away, Spend $30-50 little more on a pistol that takes Glock mags (or other equally cheap magazines) and for the same $300 investment you can have a pistol + 6-7 mags vs a pistol with only 2-3 mags.

I ordered the SAR9 with 2-15 rnd 9mm mags etc. from Palmetto. It had the same description issues about NS & Optics ready.
Was on this site & Palmettos the next day & this time it came with 2-17 rnd mags & wrong info… I swear they do it on purpose. While at the the local gun store we proved it does not take Glock mags-wrong angle. However, it was a great gun & felt very good to handle & also comfortable. I could see how it’d be a good truck gun.

I called & my money was refunded in 5 days from the day my FFL sent the pre paid UPS PDF & pistol back.

GOT ONE 5 DAYS AGO. NO NIGHT SITES,NO OPTIC CUT. 3 HOLES ON THE TOP OF THE SLIDE,RATHER STRANGE. WHAT OPTIC TAKES 3 SCREWS? NOT SURE. IT IS A GREAT PISTOL THOUGH. WELL WORTH THE PRICE AND THEN SOME, ADJUSTBLE GRIP STRAPS, NICE CLEANING KIT, 2 MAGS.

the holes on the top are the optic cut. there's no milling of the slide, you just direct thread the optic onto the top of the gun. it's kinda useless IMO, and just best to iron sight it instead of running and optic. Not a big deal for a gun that's barely more than a hi-point

Galloway Precision makes a nice short stroke trigger ($28), and reduced power spring kit ($19.50) for these SAR9's. I have replaced these on 2 of the 3 SAR9's I have and it is a nice upgrade.

Livinitup, Thanks for writing on this. I am seriously thinking about getting one. How is the accuracy ?

    1 vote
    3 votes

standard glock "combat" accuracy. nothing more, nothing less. good gun, solid accuracy. for $199 it's kinda hard to beat

They aren't something I'd consider a "match grade" accuracy but for 99% of the people who are just looking for a solid self defense pistol, these are plenty accurate. They are what I call "duty accurate" easily more accurate than most folks can shoot. As everyone knows, I love these guns. I've not had any of them fail or have any issues. Id definitely get one if your needing a good self defense pistol.

On a side note, contact PSA to make absolutely sure this is a night sight, optics ready model because there is some confusion. I don't think the pic is correct? Just be sure. I know they offer a "mete" version that has a slimmed down slide, lighter weight and supposedly are optics ready as well. Just be sure your buying what you are wanting.

I just got one this week for a truck gun. Took it to the range yesterday. I shot a very tight group with this at 10 yds and very comparable to my Springfield echelon in accuracy and it has an optic on it. Just make sure you use at the bare minimum 124 grain ammo. My dad bought one after he shot it and he’s a Glock fanboy.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago and wanted to see how it would do with 115 grain steel case right out of the box. It ran perfectly well through the whole box. Figured I would document it on YouTube:

I think it's a great pistol with a nice trigger!

I own 8 of these currently as I own a Private security and elite protections company. I am also a firearms DPSST Armed guard certificate program instructor. I spent weeks testing, researching and absolutely just shooting the shit out of the gun before making a decision to make these our duty pistols that I could trust my and my officers lives with. It showed me how much of an unbelievable deal it is on a fantastic pistol.
I had zero issues in approx 2000 rounds. They are super reliable, very accurate and fully customizable to fit all hand sizes. One thing that most folks don't understand is that if by chance a situation arose and myself or my officers end up having to use our firearms, they are confiscated as evidence and often end up in a closet for years...so I was looking for a quality, dependable and customizable pistol when I came across these. Shortly after all the testing I bought 10, all my officers feel the same way as I do. Alot of them ended up buying one for themselves. So yes, I absolutely believe this is one of the best pistols for the sub $300, heck even $400 range.
