I used the CMMG original with a dedicated 22lr upper and at first I was horrified by the reliability in terms of failures to eject and general operation. Then I had read to withhold judgement on the bolt group until a brick of 22lr is put through it. 500 rounds at that time was less than $25 shipped so it wasn't particularly difficult to accomplish aside loading the mags (I use the Smith and Wesson ones). Lo and behold, it's run perfectly since that break in period with and without a suppressor. Keep it clean and have fun with your AR22!

I have two and have the bore Buddy reliability kit for them. Have the Catch22 bolt catch and 9 of the Kriss mags and the LRBHO works well. Can usually run through 300 or so rounds at a clip without issue. Not surpressed yet. Have one in jail, so just waiting. The people in my carbine class with M&P's seem to run into more issues than those of us with dedicated cmmg's. The ones doing the conversion kit seem to have the most issues. Just easier to do a dedicated upper. Catch 22 has a slip on bolt catch so you can use your standard AR lower and get lrbho.

The PSA one has been $85. They're all rebranded cmmg. Sadly the PSA is out of stock so if you need something now...
