After 5 attempts to contact this shop (emails, voice mail and emails through their site) I was finally able to have someone there pick up the phone-and of course, this person was rude and short. It took 3 weeks for me to receive my pistol which came in the day before the rebate postmark deadline. Sure, they were cheap but I would rather pay a little more to get just the most basic of customer service. Buyer beware. I would never purchase here again.
You paid for the guns upfront, actually purchased them, then he held that sale and made the purchases say the first and then shipped the guns, I know what happened and I truly understand the situation. You've got to be a blithering idiot to not see jwhat you're even saying. You are agreeing when you actually purchased the guns, prior to the rebate start date. Start dates for rebates are there for a reason. What if everyone presold all the merchandise before the rebates were made public? It's not a fair way of doing business and as I said before according to the Remington rebate representative, it is illegal and unethical and they are the ones that run their rebates. I believe that he did it that way to get the money to be able to buy the guns in the first place. My FFL said that that's how a lot of small people are able to stay in business, that's why that it takes him so long to ship the gun like he did mine, ( and many others) . He might pre-sale a bunch of guns to get the money to buy the guns from the distributor to ship to you and me.
This is a legit way to do business, as its called a fucking pre-order! i buy games, and movies and computer parts and all kinds of things like this. a sales transaction isnt completed till the item is invoiced and received by the customer or shipped to them. hell look at the dictionary definition of it.
verb: pre-order
1.
order (an item of merchandise) before it is available, with the understanding that it will be shipped later.
the blithering idiot in all this is you, and im sure the rebate thought it was shady, cuz a blithering idiot was explaining it to them. My FFL didnt see a problem, and i had to wait a day after he got it in because of the sales date before he could release it. Etiher way, im done with ya man... i dont know how you even remember to breathe.
I was referring only to the ethics of it since no one else sells merchandise before the date that the rebate starts. That was not a pre-order that was a prepurchase. You paid for it and he issued the tracking number and he changed the date of when you bought it to the first to match the rebate requirements. He probably used the money from all of the credit cards to be able to get the guns. I believe that this company uses the money they get to be able to buy the guns from Hicks because they're not well-financed. You had 50 some odd messages about the whole situation and he was the only one doing it. If you're the only business doing something weird like that, something must be wrong. I also called the rebate company and they said that that was wrong and unlawful. There are plenty of situations where it works out good for you but that still doesn't make it right. I bought one of the guns from him after the rebate started, I'm just stupid that way. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
again, you are looking at it all wrong, just plain wrong. yes we paid for the gun upfront, but it didnt invoice or ship till the 1st. You are saying it like we bought the guns and received them and got receipts saying the 1st, and that IS NOT what happened. This has been explained to you and you still cant get it, you never will. good luck with that, have a nice time.
Ordered on Cyber Monday, received the order yesterday (12/11), and just sent out the rebate this morning to make sure to make the 12/15 postmarked rebate deadline. I had no issues with Combat Armory replying to emails or answering phone calls. I had a good experience and would not hesitate to purchase from them again in the future.
I ordered on November 23 and just received it today, December 12. He never responded to any email and only answered the phone once to tell me that he was going to get them shipped soon. Just like his "early pre-buying" rebate situation, my experience with that company is bad. He did have the best price but he worried the crap out of me about the gun arriving before the rebate was over.
what "early pre-buying" situation are you talking about? the one you were not smart enough to understand what a pre-order was? the rest of us who took advantage of that "early pre-buying" situation havent had a problem.
I don't believe I'm going to change your mind, nor are you going to change mine, have a nice time.
they have a master file of FFL's or do you have to actually get your FFL to fax or email them. My guy will never remember
Over the past newer years Remington is nothing like the Remington's of years ago. **bummer** to 8-(
Got mine from combat armory, they ship fast w/tracking # and answered the phone when I called with questions as some places don't ,Remington emailed me that they received
Gun stores have some balls selling these for 400 bucks
Don't do business with them, just like I wont do business or ever will with the companies that were Ripping people off/gouging the shit out of consumers during the rimfire stampede during OBOZOS dictatorship 8-)
Totally agree with you. People will say how bad they feel for gun companies right now. Who cares, they have been ripping us off for years, now that prices have come down we are suppose to feel bad? I dont think so.
I have one of these and it has been very reliable
A heavy unreliable 380, yeah ok Remington.
MY guess is you don't own one and have never shot one mine is very reliable and fairly accurate for a small pistol.
Great price but the cheap bastard in me is holding out for 100AR..
I already got a pocket 380 and don't need another.
For $119, why not. That's in Jennings, Cobra, Phoenix Arms territory.
No Symmit, I would not rather pay more or use a different store. Combat Armory has always been 100% satisfactory in all my orders. Communication was great too.
There are several companies that offer discounted preorders. We do it at my work too. It allows a company to operate on a smaller margin and pay forward the discount because they are using the customers prepaid money to buy the inventory instead of tieing up their own cash flow. It is an honest practice.
Thumbs up to Combat Armory. Don't listen to Symmit's nonsense. These guys delivered and I look forward to ordering from them again.
Picked up the RM380 today from my FFL. Decent little gun especially considering the after rebate price. Gonna go shoot it tomorrow. Not nearly as nice as my P238HD or my Kimber Micro Raptor 380, but those cost me over $500 each. Waiting now for my R51 to arrive too. Would have never bought either of these without the rebates.
Sprayed the RM down with M-Pro and oiled the gun up with Hoppe's. Put 150 rounds of 100 gr ball ammo. Went bang every time. Double action trigger is kinda lousy, very long pull, there is no reset. You better let the trigger out all the way or it won't go bang. Trigger weight is 9.5 lbs according to my gauge.
Minor issues:
1) you gotta load the mags just perfect to get all 6 rounds in.
2) a few times the slide didn't stay open after the last round
3) front sight washes out in the sunlight
Despite the heavy trigger, the little guy will shoot. Here are 4 mag dumps (offhand of course) 7 yards out. All 24 in about a 10" group. Pretty much what this gun was made for.

Slow shooting for accuracy, offhand, 7 yards out, 6 rounds:

Got the reduced power spring kit from Galloway Precision. Installed it and then put another 150 rds through the RM. I had one light primer stick. Pulled the trigger again and it went bang. The trigger is improved now. A bit smoother pull and almost 2 pounds lighter. Nice upgrade for only $18.
Picked up mine today, also. Invoice in box, greased to hell, etc, etc. Currently loaded up with Hornady 380 90gr XTP.
Just picked up mine today. I dont know how that Symmit guy remembers how to breathe, let alone turn on a computer to spew stupid bullshit to people.
But yeah, very oily, slides real nice. I wouldnt have gotten one either as i already have a Bodyguard, but at this price...
Transfer fee is $20 but wisconsin charges $10 to process a handgun
What do you pay for a transfer fee? I don't know anybody that charges more than $15.
Picked mine up today. Inside was an invoice dated the 1st. Gun is caked in oil but slide racks very smoothly. Fits well in the hand. As long as it doesn't jam I will thoroughly enjoy this for $150 after transfer. Will make a good backup gun for lcp (my already backup gun haha)
Wow so combat armory wasn't lying just like we predicted they were telling the truth? Amazing
But for a few bucks more wouldn't you rather buy the gun from a company like Smoky Mountain gun works, a company that is legally selling by the rebate rules. None of that, buy now, get a tracking number, and then we'll issue a receipt when the rebate starts stuff. I never said his rebate crap wasn't going to happen, I just said it was unethical, did not follow the rules of the manufacturer. Some people don't mind dealing with unethical people, like my minds get along. Wouldn't you rather deal with a company that doesn't have 67 posts about whether they're crooks or not?
The rebate has been posted here https://www.remington.com/rebates-promotions
Are you kidding? The rebate has not started, no other sites are selling you the gun and then not shipping it until a supposed rebate starts on the first. Whatever you need to tell yourself. CA sold the guns, charged your credit card, and will print the receipts and ship them once the rebate starts. What are you going to say if there is no rebate, or if the rebate gets turned down? You're going to be screaming at him to give you your hundred dollars. A down payment is holding a purchase. Payment in full and a tracking number is a pre-sale and fraud in the eyes of the rebate center, call them and ask them, they'll tell you the same. If you put them in the United States mail, it also turns into mail fraud.
You people do realize combat armory did the same with Shield rebates and no one complained of not receiving theirs? You are some of the most paranoid, pessimistic people I have met.
We all know this is a unethical way of doing business. We know the rebate is for purchases made starting November 1. Everyone that is buying the gun right now and having their credit cards charged before November 1, technically and probably legally do not qualify for the rebate. If he falsified the purchase date to the first, you can see where everyone is party to something unlawful/unethical. If it was OK to do the sales this way, why aren't all the dealers doing this. They're waiting until they can legally sell the gun on the first instead of being the only dealer selling the gun at this time in preparation for the start date.
i guess you never heard of a PRE-order huh? ive ordered many many many things over the years where i paid upfront to get something on the day you can purchase it. order date and purchase date are not always the same thing. there is nothing illegal or unethical about this.
When you "pre-order"and pay for it on the same day and then get your receipt to say another day, that's unethical, according to the people that answer the phone at Remington over the rebates. And, they said if you use the mail service, it could fall under mail fraud. Don't try to kid yourself, these were bought and paid for on the same day, to stay ahead of the legal rebate start date. What if every time there was a sale or a rebate etc., and you let some stores sell them out two weeks before the start date, why have a start date to begin with?
no they were not bought yet, they were paid for up front. if they took home the item same day, or shipped same day with reciepts doctored, THAT would be unethical. paying to secure your item before the actual purchase date IS NOT. And has been done for fucking years and years and years. No one is buying this gun and taking it home and then getting a reciept saying it was bought later.
I don't know that I would trust the rebate. There's no form to download, the link is not to Remington's site, the fine print says it needs to be post marked by 12/19/2016 and Remington has nothing on their site about it.
I thought the guy said they weren't punching out the receipts and shipping them until the first. If the receipt is yesterday or today or tomorrow the rebates no good. I thought he was making the transaction date the first? Remington doesn't care about the ship date it's the purchase date on the receipt that matters . He said the deal won't execute until the first, if it's already on your credit card then the deal has executed before the first
Order went through on my credit card yesterday.
Status on my order : shipped with today's date.
CA not answering my emails.
don't know what's going on?
I knew better from his initial sale of the pistols but I did it anyway on the second round. I will never buy from him again either.
