To USMC0622Review and others, let me start off by saying thank you for your service. Yes, it's normally cheaper to build, and it gives you a better understanding of how the firearm works, BUT in this case it WAS cheaper to just buy the complete upper and lower.

Besides a lot of people that are looking at this post of a complete firearm and not a build kit are typically not looking to build right now (even though I do normally recommend it). Either they don't have enough time or lack of confidence, so by SIMPLY pushing two pins together doesn't take much time and allows a first timer to see how easy it is!

Like I said it was CHEAPER to buy the complete upper and lower and push the two pins together.

IF SOMEBODY CAN BUILD A QUALITY AR10, for cheaper then the $480 shipped that I paid last year. Then PLEASE by all means let us all know!

The Gen 2 stainless MOE 18 in upper with bcg and the complete Magpul EPT lower from PSA cost me $578 shipped 3 or 4 months ago.

Actually as of last night that offer is still available. $219 for the MOE lower plus shipping and $299 for the upper with BCG and CH which ships free but separately from the lower. I have the non-MOE lower and it had the crappest and roughest 'milspec trigger' I have ever touched. I ordered a drop in trigger after the 1st 10 rounds....this is the only non-milspec trigger out of 5 AR's that I ever bothered to change. I cut my teeth on them and quite like the feel of a good old stock trigger but this one SUCKED.

It's cheaper to buy the complete upper with the complete lower, and simply push two pins together and your ready to rock!

I ordered the stainless upper with bcg and a Magpul lower from Psa for about $479 shipped!

Also that way the Psa lady told me I could try out the upper for 30days to see if I like it, if not I could send it back!?!

Definitely not true about buying everything together completely and pushing the pins together.... I build all my own AR/M16 platforms regardless of calibers and I get a substantial savings, I have receipts even with FFL transfers if need be... I have plenty of fellow veterans with happy milpsec combat proven firearms...

Not clear on your comment. Are you saying you're all for doing your own builds BUT it's not as simple as popping together PSA's "complete uppers and lowers" via a couple of pins? 'Preciate clarification as I'm getting ready to try a build and was going to invest in a jig kit and start from 80% lower but don't have much free time right now so pushing a couple of pins sounds really appealing, cost effective and foolproof. Did Dealhunter perhaps oversimplify the process in his comment? Thx

If you buy a complete upper and a complete lower then, yes, all you have to do is push two pins together. The only point of an 80% lower (in my mind) is if you really like machining things or if you are trying to avoid a record check / paper trail for buying a gun. If you just wanted to build an AR you could get a stripped lower cheaper than the 80% lower and a big set. You also get to avoid all the drilling.

Any comments on this rifle? Last time I was looking at AR-10s, they were $800-900! Anyone know the best polymer magazine for this?

As for the rifle itself, I got the lower with Magpul furniture and upper with 18" nitride barrel; shoots good but chamber is tight such that if you use military [machine gun fired] brass you'll need to use a small base resizing die or they won't work. Factory ammo no problem.

I've been using PMAGS with my PA-10 and no problems whatsoever. Other "DPMS" type mags should be ok.

I have been using USGI style C Products defense magazines made for DPMS LR308 for my PSA AR10 with no problems no issues at all... From PSA using DPMS schematics, I would think almost anything made for the DPMS platform would work for PSA. Even both of my 556/762 NATO platforms, no issues whatsoever, minus the hiviz orange highlighter follower, I have 0 complaints and I'd deploy with these magazines.

LR PMAG is best. 25rd window, 20rd, 10rd, or M118LR 25rd window. M118LR 25rd PMAGS were on sale wholesale lately, so they should be found cheap.
