Description
The Protector Helmet is based on the classic PASGT helmet issued for decades in middle eastern conflicts, however, unlike those older designs, the Protector features an adjustable suspension system and enhanced padding.
This helmet provides single-hit protection against all handgun threats and is tested in accordance with NIJ 0106.01 level IIIA standards with .44 magnum rounds.* It is principally made of an integrated formation of aramid fiber, placed under high heat and pressure. This material is popular for lightweight armor for its high strength and is especially resilient in extreme temperatures.
The outer surface of the helmet shell is coated in a matte finish with a walnut powder texture, while the helmet edge is covered by low-friction rubber. It features a boltless retention system and a full shell to cover your entire head, unlike some modern designs.
*The tests were conducted with .44 mag (an NIJ 0101.06 IIIA threat) but otherwise followed the procedure of the NIJ 0106.01 (shot placement, BFD methods, etc).

It's pretty amazing what these internet flea market companies for (potentially) life saving "body armor" get away with. They use vague language to suggest their knockoff items are "tested to,” using “the procedures of" and "designed by" (someone who did something somewhere but clearly has no expertise in designing ballistic resistant items) and lists features like “base coats” of “spall liner” and “alloy construction” as if any of that actually means something. They basically describe how Temu comes up with their wares; copy legit products with real world testing then cut corners on all the stiff that matters to create something that might work…or might not.
But the mall ninjas and redditors will eat it up regardless so I guess it still pays AR500’s bills so what do they care. Those people will rarely leave their basements so perhaps the risk of injury isn’t there unless they drop an 8lb steel armor plate on their big toe ;)
How do you know they haven't tested their products? You should put one on and have your cross dressing uncle put down the dildo and test it on you before crying like a child about it, put your money where your mouth is. You should probably wipe off all that lube from uncle fester to get an accurate test though.
Which of their products have you tested? And yes, AR500 Armor is constantly being tested by plenty of youtube gun channels so I don't need to. That's how it works. The amount of spall from their "armor" can be deadly and their helmets look like swiss cheese after a few 9mm rounds.

As an Army veteran myself I have actually been issued that fancy IFAK and legit ceramic plates. I didn't need to grab my medical kit from mommy's "purse" while at the "mall" with the other "small children and animals." Unlike some other ""dumb fuck" I have a DD214.

I bought several of these...used one to actually test a PMC .223 55gr at 100yds and it did not penetrate the Interior of the helmet! That's really all it took to prove to me it was worth money. Think what you want, I really don't care. My goal is to have people do their own research and understand what they have buying options and don't have to pay top dollar for quality. Unlike you, I spent 20 years in the military and did tour in Iraq. I know what I needed and found it much cheaper than any of the "gear" websites. I've bought armor from AR500 Armor...a lot of it in fact, so that my family and I are prepared. Pay more if you want, not my money!
