Description

L5 Rifle scope offers precise and repeatable 1/8MOA windage and elevation adjustments on lockable and re-zeroable turret tactical style turrets. The side parallax adjustment combined with the ocular diopter adjustment provides a crisp target image over the entire magnification range. The L5 Reticle is a precise MOA measuring devise with 2MOA increments below the rifle’s zero and meaningful windage values built in this rifle scope. This optical package simply makes longer shots possible.

I was hesitant at the price, as typically with products, you get what you pay for. And with optics, the tier one glass, durability, eye relief, weight associated with a 30mm tube, is far better than what I have bought previously, for $1,500 and up. Lucid Optics offers the highest quality, so far extremely durable, and far lighter weight than my Bushnell XRS 4.5-30x50mm FFP, G2 reticle(which is one of the best in my opinion), 34mm main tube, and extremely heavy but definitely rugged and robust. After buying this scope from Lucid, I bought the MLX 4.5-18x44mm FFP configured, (perfect reticle for precision shooting, and a little heavier than the L5 series, but has different features for specific reasons), the both Lucid P7 Combat Optics, with a fixed 4 power for a general purpose, CQB setup for an ACOG style setup for my SBR in 6.5 Grendel, and also my M4 Carbine in 223 Wylde and 6.5 Grendel with the 1-6x CQB/Multi purpose Carbine with Legacy Precision's Rapid Response Rail System, being how I can shoot different calibers through a single platform, and not having to buy a different upper per caliber or barrel length. I am literally that impressed with Lucid Optics. Having worked at a firearms store, I got to see the broadest range of optics, from the Weaver or Simmons, to U.S Optics, Nightforce, Vortex, Steiner, Zeiss, and of course Leupold. I have always gone to Leupold for my primary rifle for hunting and precision shooting or personal defense applications with the Mark 4 and Mark 6 (but not Mark 8 as that is way too much for an optic, and I can buy a Thermal or Night Vision scope for that cost). After using the Lucid L5 for hunting and as my long range to extreme range precision shooting, I have replaced all my optics with Lucid's designs per firearms platform and application. Having to be constantly in the field, with a rifle to shoot any coyotes or predators; that can kill my cattle and turkeys, I have to be able to see vividly what I can shoot. Since my eyesight is getting worse with age, I need to be able to see the reticle clearly, with the most eye relief, and will take the most magnification I can get, that with other scopes of lesser quality, I can't see clearly at full magnification, so like with the Bushnell XRS, it is expensive and a decent scope, but does not allow for seeing the reticle or anything at 30x. But with the Lucid Optics I have, and was curious about what they claim, and what it really does. And I am beyond impressed and recommend this scope and all Lucid Optics, as far as their scopes and red dot sights, as I have not been able to see their binoculars, and spotting scopes. So I can only recommend what I have used and purchased. In short, this is a scope that is on par with all tier one companies, European glass clarity, light gathering capabilities, extremely well thought out designs and features, robust and extremely durable so far, since I did not even know about Lucid Optics until a year and a half ago(and wish I had found them sooner, as I would have saved a fortune on optics for each firearms platform, I collect or use on a daily basis), and at a fraction of what all other companies that make comparable featured scopes with premium glass, combat capable or for me, in and out of the truck all day or getting it banged around on the ATV or tractor(so I am rough on scopes and firearms, but they are a critical tool for my way of earning a living). So you can pay far more, but you are not going to be able to achieve more with the various options Lucid Optics designs. Sorry for the letter, as I am extremely thorough and try to explain everything in complete detail. But I have been completely shocked and amazed with Lucid Optics. And this new company Legacy Precision, that sells most of Lucid Optics products, and other cutting edge designs and firearms accessories. So also this is a review of where I found the scope for the best price. And just starting to see what Legacy Precision is offering, since I didn't know there was a source for Chrome Silicon springs, incorporated into every magazine they sell, that they have designed around each cartridge(like Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel magazine, to reliably cycle the cartridge Bill Alexander invented, and had a magazine made around the cartridge, instead of what all others sources are doing, by simply retrofitting AR-15 magazines, to hold Grendel ammunition, and is the result for 50% of all 6.5 Grendel malfunctions). So i give Lucid Optics and Legacy Precision 4.5 stars, just because I have not put everything though it's paces, and taken a deer or game animal with the 6.5 Grendel yet, but have been able to shoot consistent 1/4 MOA and even 3/8th's MOA with factory Hornady 123 Grain SST ammunition. And even with Wolf ammunition, Legacy Precision's custom cut rifled barrels and all the enhancements and modifications they offer, that I had no idea it took that much time and labor to manufacture, assemble, and custom tune each firearm they make, with world class craftsmanship as described on their website, which they do not have their firearms designs loaded on their website yet, which I called to talk and learn more about what they do. They instructed me to their Facebook page, for seeing who they are, what they do, the designs they have developed and consolidated with new companies(or new to me, and everyone else has more experience with them). So I recommend Lucid Optics and Legacy Precision for such products as for their magazines, that I bought from them. To have the most reliability, and over a decade experience with their Chrome Silicon Flatwire, 1911, 8 round 45acp magazines, using the same source as Wilson Combat in their ETM magazines with Flatwire springs, that I have kept fully loaded since they first came out, and now 12 years later, they still cycle flawlessly, with never having a single malfunction, from the magazine(but many from operator error), now I can have that same confidence in my AR-15 and Legacy Precision's 1911 magazines, that cost less than half of what Wilson Combat charges, so I can afford to stock up, and know I am not paying for a name or brand.
