Description

The DeltaPoint Micro red dot sight by Leupold was designed specifically for concealed carry applications and is perfectly suited for use on smaller-framed handguns. The DeltaPoint Micro mounts directly to the rear sight dovetail, and sits at the same height as the factory iron sights. The reticle aligns with the front sight, which in turn increases target acquisition and enhances accuracy. This feature also allows the DeltaPoint Micro to be used as a ghost ring sight should the battery die.

I picked up one of these at the new low low price to try out. I'm old and have struggled with RDS on pistols, badly. Took it out today and it was much much easier for me to get the dot, even though this has a teeny tiny window as I'm bringing it up to where my irons would be naturally. Put a few hundred rounds on it, came home and did a few draw and present drills with the other pistol I have with a RMR and for whatever reason the dot came more naturally, finally. Guess something in my brain finally twigged. Going to run a half case or more through this little dot and see how that goes.

Remembering that I have to remove the battery cover to remove and put the slide back on for cleaning was irritating L(

The problem with it is Leupold wanted like $400+ for something that might be great but was relatively untested. Literally two months ago these were at least 3x more. Seems like they could have charged less and made a market.

I don't get it. If you run a dot, it's for quicker acquisition. This thing seems like it requires target acquisition in the same manner as irons. Without pictures, I don't understand why I would need this.

Running a dot is not JUST for quick acquisition. It’s mostly for accuracy. Where the dot is, the round goes.. this eliminates the margin of error that exists with irons. It’s also a really small form factor, much smaller than a standard rds. I have one on a 43x and I can draw from a pocket holster with ease where I could not with a standard dot

Agree with everything you said. I just want to say I don't think dots are for quicker acquisition at all...it takes a lot of practice to find a dot quicker than you can find and align irons, because the irons are always in view even when you don't have the weapon drawn and ready. You can see them as you're bringing the weapon up, with a dot you can't. It's not there until you have the gun fully in "ready to fire" position, THEN you have to search for it. You can practice this to minimize that time, but with irons, that time isn't there at all.

Notice how stock pictures don't show it attached to any handgun...
