Description

Hard Use
Our R556 is ready for anything and everything. With a proprietary OxYn finished, stainless construction, it’s rated for full auto use.
Accuracy

KGM Suppressors are engineered to enhance or maintain the host weapon system accuracy. Our patented gas flow pathing enhances stability of every round passing through the suppressor. This reduces point of impact shift and improves precision of the host weapon system.
Flash Mitigation

KGM Suppressors utilize a stoichiometric design to ensure the flash is contained within the suppressor, providing little to no flash when firing the weapon in both the visible and other spectrums.

Recoil Reduction
KGM Suppressors employ the patented Adjustable Port End Cap (APECTM). The APECTM sheers the energy of the high-pressure gases, reducing the recoil of the weapon system. Users can tune the APEC to tailor the recoil reduction, enabling the shooter to stay on target.

Additionally, the KGM APEC allows for lower system backpressure. Allowing weapon systems to run better, smoother, for longer.
Gas Optimization

KGM Suppressors Integrated Gas Flow (IGFTM) designs eliminates over-gassing and decreases toxic gasses to the shooter.

Sound Suppression
KGM Suppressors not only significantly reduce the sound and pressure to the shooter, but also modify the tonal characteristics of the weapon. This reduced and modified downrange signature, significantly enhances combat effectiveness.

makes it hard to have a excuse not to own one

Yep. I picked up two at $350. After tax, NFA FFL transfer, fingerprinting, and ATF tax stamp, I’m in about $700 per suppressor. Not awesome, but not bad.

I would highly recommend steering clear of Bereli. They are super shady.

I've ordered several thousands of dollars worth of guns, ammo and accessories and have never had the slightest issue.

1000% disagree. I’ve ordered thousands - if not 10’s of thousands - of dollars in equipment from them, and I’ve yet to have any issues. That said, they are a small team, so if you have issues it takes more time than working with say Brownell’s or Sportsman’s.

$400, not the $350 posted.

Can't recommend the seller. After I paid for the supressor, I didn't get any support in finding a local dealer, and they refused to refund full price. Ended up with a dispute on my Visa.

So you put the cart before the horse and they can't make it go. Check here for a local FFL https://www.ffldealernetwork.com/home... or here https://www.fflsearch.com... or here https://www.gunbroker.com/ffl/index... Hope this helps.

Having just said never cheap out on cans...Id look hard at this if I was in the market for a 15 can. A very hard look. Little on the heavy side. Just a tad. Its new generation flow technology. It not the HRX flow. Hrx flow is $1k. They say hrx flow has flash. KGM says R556 has good flash suppression. Ill take a little more back pressure for better flash suppression. Especially for 60% less $. People are still buying the RC2 with its meh performance because it has good flash suppression and good flow. For a lot more than 4 small too. Flow tech with reasonable weight heavy use rated and low flash for four bills. Not as quiet as high back pressure or even the flow but quiet is just one performance metric.Quieter than the RC-2. Like i said quiet isnt everything shown by continued RC-2 popularity. For 4 small Id jump if I needed a 15 can I think. Yes I believe I would. It appears to me its a better can for a 15 than the Polonium which at $500 is a great price and the k556 is $100 less... Polonium is high backpressure can no flow more quiet,.K556 Beats the 12 oz Turbo 2 K for the same 4 small? Thats a tough call but still... I would jump. Heres the pew review. https://pewscience.com/sound-signature-reviews-free/sss-6-60-kgm-r556-mk18-556...

PS. So much for low flash. https://www.reddit.com/r/NFA/comments/1465hyz/first_conjugal_visit_kgm_r556_on_ddv7p_103/.... It appears the "anti flash coating" burns off in three shots. The RC2 remains the flash suppress leader in suppressors. Not wild about the way this can sprays gas 360 degrees right angle at muzzle. Some of us fat old men do this thing called "prone". No closed tine like a flashhider on bottom. Of course drilling and tapping those holes on the bottom to plug would be no big deal. I would do that in the first day I got my paws on one. Im not sure about the flow technology thing. Ok its the future- I get it. Probably much better than the previous way to deal with flow- make the can inefficient with overbore. Ditto for K cans. So.. This or a Polonium K with a tuned gas block... Like I said Im old... Stuck in my outdated ways... This is 18oz the polonium k 14oz I think. Turbo k2 is 12... I love these stupid cans but the more I use them the more I realize they are a pain. Ill take that pain any day to keep the neighbors and their horses happy. Cans are like a trophy wife. Most times your better off with the girl next door. A non NFA barrel length and a A2 flashider. There are limits. The can sucks up heat to do its job. Would you duct tape a small frying pan to your muzzle? Maybe a gas cooled sleeve and a small 6 foot tank? :) Any way you look at it this is one hell of a can for 4 small and a stamp. Its twice the can at half the price of cans ten years ago. Suppressors cant be exported. The rest of the world just drools at USA suppressor tech! Buy all the cans you can! USA USA USA USA. Uncle Sammy needs the change from the stamp too hes broke. In countries where they are not regulated they weigh like four pounds. Not enough firearms to make state of the art manufacture practical. Theres probably more private firearms in one Texas county than all of Europe. We need to make suppressor export legal to get trade deficit down. What else can you buy for $600 thats this cool? Ok three dates if your young. Point taken. You cant buy a hubcap for a Lexus for $600! Back in the day you could buy Cosmolined greased SKS from China state arsenals for $79 and damn- they were nice. Daewoo k-2s for $200 in 82 or so. I think minimum wage was $3...Those days are gone but the golden days of cans are now.

After looking at the video, I have a few observations about the flash:

1. Indoor range, where flash will be more visible than daylight hours outside.
2. Daniel Defense 10.3” barrel, which is the same length as the MK18 (probably same barrel), and is notoriously difficult to eliminate flash. The RC2 was designed to eliminate first shot flash and reliably reduce flash signature at the expense of improved sound reduction. R556 has a different purpose and is bound to have some flash signature.
3. “White box” ammunition, which is likely cheap 55gr rounds. 69gr or 77gr would have less flash.

I’m more apt to trust the reviews from Pew Science and Aaron Cowan than random internet keyboard commandos.

Overseas has no problems with their own cans. https://www.sportingservices.co.uk/collections/rifle-suppressors...

It is certainly not my intention to demean the craftsmen manufacturing suppressors in countries other than the USA. It remains my opinion that the USA dominates suppressor design innovation and implementation. If any one really cares I encourage them to inspect the link provided, compare to USA suppressor manufacturers websites and decide for themselves.

While I certainly enjoy the fine suppressors available in the USA to me there is a larger issue. I find the suppressor industry to demonstrate the viability of USA innovation and manufacturing because they cant just be knocked off in China. I find the idea that prosperity can be created via trade deficit and debt without innovation and manufacturing to be ludicrous and always have. We live in a modern world with modern supply chains but we simply must find a way for USA innovation to not be destroyed- a balance. I find hope in what the USA suppressor industry demonstrates and I continue to believe that sustainable prosperity in the USA lies with innovation and work ethic.. The issue is complicated and in my opinion prosperity lies not exclusively with globalization or exclusively with isolationism but a common sense middle ground that allows domestic innovation via respect for intellectual property that is legally internationally enforceable. Until then I will just have to live with my 8 ounce can that is full auto rated and goes pffft.

Especially after you run 500+ rounds through them.

Nothing some high-temp exhaust spray paint can’t fix, though…

I can't vouch for Bereli- I ordered mine weeks ago, and haven't even gotten a ship date to my FFL.

I ordered 2 cans. Took about a month for the forms before the ffl got it. Be patient. It’s a small operation with a high volume of orders.

This has been my experience as well. I think they're small on staff but large on inventory. Just takes a little time to get things done. And besides, your suppressor is probably going to be in jail for most of a year anyway.

It was only 7 weeks in jail. Crazy fast.

Form 3s do take some time.

3 votes

Form 3s should only take 14 days but I don’t know if it’s the ATF or these dealers taking forever. I purchased a suppressor at Botach and it was coming up on 5 months so I cancelled bc that is just BS. I rolled the dice purchasing the R30 from Bereli hoping they send it in a reasonable timeframe. Just have to wait and see

Botach is a bunch of scammers masquerading as a legitimate company. I’ve literally cancelled five orders with them because of their bullshit.

Bereli is a small shop with limited employees who are running some banging pricing on Form 3 items. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust them and give them time - especially given the price.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Botach scammers, just if there is any kind of problem with the order at all they are just incompetent at handling it. And they don't care... I certainly wouldn't want to deal with for something like a suppressor purchase.

If you deal with botach for any length of time... its like the Farengi rule of acquisition. "Once you get the money never give it back" Not worth their good prices to deal with their BS.

Disagree. 1000% disagree. You do you, but those people will never get a dime from me, and I have a very high tolerance for bullshit.

I’m new to the supressor game. Is it realistic/feasible to get one that I could use on both .556 and .22LR?

0 votes
0 votes

BPuff57 has it right. The one caveat is that 22LR is DIRTY and has a bad habit of fouling up suppressors very quickly. If it's not a user-serviceable can (one you can disassemble and clean), you will cause carbon/lead buildup much faster by running 22LR through it, even though the can can easily handle the pressure.

2 votes
0 votes

Yeah, good point about the dirtiness of 22LR. I use mine with it, but then I also clean them semi-frequently.

1 vote
0 votes

Yep. I do that all the time. Get one for 5.56 and you can also use it on 22LR. Just don’t do it the other way around. 22LR suppressors aren’t typically built to withstand 5.56 pressures.

Can anyone vouch for these cans?

I was able to inspect my R30T tody and complete the Form 4 paperwork. Suppressor is very well-made, comes with a soft case and a few wrenches. I would bet it performs as well as expected.

Recommend.

NFA Review Channel on YouTube reviewed the r30 and r556 I believe. Supposedly the FBI contracted KGM to provide the R30 for all of the FBI bolt action rifles. Also, Daniel Defense contracted KGM to make suppressors for them so that also tells you that they make good cans. The DD suppressors are literally the same as all KGM suppressors, but with DD name on them. If you don’t plan on running full auto you should get the R30 imo. Full titanium and lightweight

I can't. Maybe someone who can will chime-in at some point. In the meantime, you might (or might not) find these reviews helpful:
