Hesitated to comment but.... You're bashing on people for buying the same gun you bought? If I have one then I have no appreciation for quality weapons lol. I guess that goes for the cheap Heritage revolvers I have too. I can't possibly like quality weapons if I own any of these too. I have a place for this weapon and I am also "serious". Meaning, it's just a play at the range or plinking gun but not a SHTF go to gun. That's reserved for a P226 and a "real" Colt M4 LE model. My Keltec runs flawlessly and has no issues. Also it isn't just "cheap, unwieldy" weapons that have issues. I had a $900 Smith 44 mag. that had a canted barrel right out of the box. You can voice your opinion about the gun without insulting people... especially when you also bought the same gun.
I love my Gen 2 G 19 - a cool carbine and fun to shoot. I got mine for $400 plus $10 shipping which I thought was a good deal - this is even better.
Mine got recalled for a new barrel. The new barrel they installed was remarkable for visible milling marks entire length of the inside of the barrel. Sent it back a month ago. No word yet.
The big difference comes with the MCARBO upgrades, especially with the trigger springs, trigger, feed ramp, and rear sight. The new flip RDS mount will be out shortly.
is there a big difference between gen1 and gen2 or it's only cosmetic? I have a gen1 that works great and i'm thinking about the gen2.
Everyone who loves this has little appreciation for a quality weapon. The design is mediocre and unwieldy. The QC is dogshit. The result is a sharp feeling cheap plastic gun for more than I would pay for the junk. If you love it… cool. There is a market for everyone. This belongs to fakes and internet killers in my book. I know zero serious people who think there is a place for this broomstick of a weapon.
I had one Gen2 years ago which I ordered on a whim. The thing showed up after 9 months of back order and had a front sight which was canted 30 degrees. Unusable. But it saved me from deciding if the junk was worth the $280 or whatever the Le/Mil deal was. Enjoy the $600 deal if you like. You were warned.
