Aww, c'mon... I JUST missed out on this thing?
You can find something very similar (and maybe even a little more reliable) at Lowe's back in the garden section. Lowe's models usually come in red, sand/tan or grey and go for about $1.50 each.
Just kidding. I don't know how available they are in your area, but I see them in the $139-$149 range at local pawn shops pretty often. You have to hit the shops that don't cater to the kids/thugs/1st gun buyers. If you figure in the typical $20-$25 FFL transfer fee when ordering online, it ALMOST works out to the same price if you by local and end up paying tax.
I bought one of their 45s "back in the day" and it's still running like a champ. I get the occasional FTF, but it is almost 100% due to the crappy magazines. I don't think twice about throwing mine in the boat or bottom of a rucksack on camping trips. I wouldn't do THAT with my fancy pistols.
On a side note, I have 2 of their carbines (1 in 9mm and another in 45 acp and think they are the coolest thing short of a Kel-Tec sub2k.
Yeah, I've been thinking recently that I might as well just leave a card with my GV# at some of the local pawn shops and ask 'em to give me a call when they get one in. Just about every "respectable" gun store I go to says they won't stock 'em - the same exact ones that tell me their prices are excellent ($600+ on a XD without fancy options).
Small wonder I'm doing all my transfers at a local pawn shop with polite, non-condescending folks.
Haha.. same issue here. My closest gun shop refuses to stock 'em, but they will order me one for a "modest fee" heh..
What sucks is, I was going to buy a couple of these back a few years ago when they were like $70-80, but got talked out of 'em.. After that I checked regularly for 'em but never found a place I trusted that would carry em.
As soon as I find one of a decent price though I'm gonna take a swing at it.
in the email I received it stated that they only had two in stock. Sign up on their website for back in stock notification.
what's with everyone posting deals from CTD? yeah, they have good prices, but it's their regular prices most of the time.
Well, just like before, I get the same message from their web-site:
We're sorry, this product is currently not in stock and can not be backordered.
CTD IS THE WORST! Why anyone would support these hacks is beyond me..... Don't get me started on the multiple warehouses, which are just other dealers that CTD has no clue what's going on at or what's in stock. They will say its in stock and hold on to your money for a week or two then refund when they took orders on say10 units when they know they only have 5 or 6. And let's not forget the Sandy Hook debacle....
