The Geissele USASOC 14.5" Improved Complete Upper receiver lets shooters put a custom take on the Upper Receiver Group Improved (URGI) being adopted by the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) forces. The complete Upper Receiver Group Improved upper is built around a proven 14.5" cold hammer forged government contour barrel, topped with a SureFire 4-prong flash hider. The Geissele Airborne charging handle has been selected for ambidextrous charging with minimal snagging. A 13.5" Geissele Mk16 free float M-LOK handguard, designed specifically at the behest of USASOC, covers almost the entire barrel, offering a rigid and ergonomic platform for your favorite lights, lasers, sights, and other accessories.

At the heart of the URGI is the 14.5" mid-length barrel that provides the upper with an extended barrel life even before being expertly chrome lined for unmatched durability and accuracy. After extensive testing, USASOC requested a government contour barrel, offering an excellent balance between weight reduction and stability with select fire weapons. A mid-length gas system was selected as well, providing enhanced rifle performance and reduced felt recoil while also improving service life of the weapon systems when compared to more traditional carbine length gas systems. SureFire's incredibly effective SF4P 4-prong flash hider has been permanently pinned and welded to the muzzle. Not only is this muzzle device effective at cutting muzzle flash, it serves as a rock solid host for SureFire's SOCOM series of fast attach suppressors.

Designed at the behest of USASOC, Geissele's MK16 M-LOK rail offers M-LOK mounting slots on six surfaces to offer even more modularity. Now lights, lasers, and grips can be mounted exactly where they're needed without bulky secondary or offset mounts. Like the MK14s, the MK16 also integrates QD sling swivel sockets into the handguard eliminating the necessity of adding unnecessary weight to the rifle with additional mounts. Geissele's proprietary barrel nut has an extended profile and improved interface with the receiver, ensuring the rail is not straight and true from the factory, but rock solid to boot.
